I agree. This was not a difficult score or very difficult pitch or anything. This was self-destruction. Terrible shots by all of them. Just look at Abdul Rauf, if he can stick around and play then why can't the rest do it.

exactly, no excuses for this. However lets not take anything away from Sri Lanka, they came out to win, and maintained the intensity from the first ball.

The batting is way too weak. The openers are rusty. Younus and Yousuf are the only decent ones. Malik has been out of form forever, Misbah is untested at test level and is prone to idiotic dismissals. Akmal averages low 30s and bats like it.
The most solid looking batsman was Abdur, the debutant, and he is more of a bowling allrounder.

Unless they do something drastic they will be humiliated in Oz later this year.

There is one cricketer name mohammad yousuf withour his runs pakistan is nothing i can bet you of it in test matches he was classie in first innings and played awesome innings 100 and then you can see middle or top order no batsmen exept mishbah was above 20 runs that shows batting line-up is to bad as waqar younis said pakistan in 2nd test will change there hole team basically like new players will come kaneria and some more youngsters i can bet that butt will be out of team same as malik if pakistan wanna win that test if not they are again welcome to loose and if murali comes in srilanka then 2nd test will be one sided.

Saw the scores yesterday and thought that Pakistan were surely a cert to win this and would love to have been watching this to see how the Sri Lankan team bowled themselves back to the victory!
