BOOM BOOM AFRIDI GOES - PAKISTAN 98/5 12 OVERS

afridialsogoesbn4.jpg

Shahid "Boom" Afridi did little to impress the thousands of fans who had been waiting ever so vigorously for him to explode. He only managed to smash 1 six before an attempted sweep shot went wrong. Afridi walked off the field without giving a damaka! Now Pakistan are by all means out of it as they are 98/5 in 12 Overs

Afridi gone and now its over for Pakistan unless we see some fireworks from Razzaq. I predict 100/6 ;) u all know from where i got it .

Game, Set & Match --- SouthAfrica :) Afridi was the only hope and he has gone now.. SA can now manage to win this at ease!

MALIK ALSO GOES - PAKISTAN 100/6 13 OVERS

Blasting all-rounder Shoaib Malik didnt last long in his first Twenty20 innings after being dismissed for a well played innings of 35 as Pakistan are on their final legs slipped now at 100/6. The Pakistani tail is now exposed after Malik got an absoloute cracker from Andre Nel. Now Abdur Rehman accompanies Abdul Razzaq in the middle.

K.N : Welcome to the Presentation Ceremony for this one and only 20-20 contest between Pakistan and South Africa on SuperSport TV. It was an one-sided match and its simply all credit to South Africa.

K.N : Well now I would like to call the loosing captain first Younis Khan first to have few words here please....

K.N : Tough Luck Younis, Just now enough runs in the end
.

Y.K : Well, today in this match it wasn't our day... We didnt play well & South Africa did an outstanding job in all aspects of the game. But in the end South Africa deserved the win.

K.N : What do you think of track?

Y.K:Well, this was troubling our batsmen most of the time. The ball was bouncing a lot more than expected. Hopefully in the opcoming ODI Series we will do better.

K.N : Thanks Younis and Better Luck Next time!!!

Y.K: Thanks....

K.N : Well now its the time for the Winning to come on the stage and have a few words please.... Please put your hans together for Greame Smith

K.N : Well Greame, Whats your opinion on this victory
?

G.S : Its been a great effort by the whole team...in other words, Its simply team-work that has led us to this victory... Gibbs and Jaques really helped us to get to 203.

K.N : Well while batting you did an great job.. how did u manage to bat on this bouncy and dangerous wicket?

G.S : Well I just fought my way through it and played along.

K.N : Thanks Greame and Good Luck for the upcoming ODI Series.

G.S : Thanks Kass

K.N : Now the Man of The Match Award... well it was really difficult to select this.... Gibbs played an explosive Innings ... Robin Peterson taking 3 vital wickets...Kallis's half-century was outstanding but Today's Man Of The Match goes to the person who did exceptionally well in the batting scoring 71 off just 38 balls including 9 sixes , also showing a batting master class in how to play a 20-20 Innings Its none other than Herschelle Gibbs! Herchelle could you come up and have a few words please.
:clap :clap :clap

K.N : Well Herchelle did you like the track for batting?

H.G: Well yes it was easy playing Afridi and some of the other spinners. Also the evening condition favoured me quite a lot aswell due to the fact that the light was just a fraction better

K.N : Which was your favourite six of the 9 which you hit?

H.G : I feel the six that i hit off afridi where i reverse swept it :) That made me laugh a bit because i thought i was going to be out. But in a 20-20 you must take risks!

K.N : Thats all from the Presentation Ceremony here form the Wanderers Stadium In Johannesburg ..... We will return to you for the Next match between Pakistan and South Africa at Centorian.... Till then Good Bye!!!

(With Pommie Mbangwa and Rameez Raja)

P.M : Hello and welcome to " xTRA COVER" which is the after match show where we will be discussing all the analysis here! As usual, we have with us, Pakistani experienced batsmen Rameez Raja to discuss the detailed anaylsis of today's match.

P.M : Well Rameez, we will start from the South African Innings... What do u think of the Protiers batting and the Pakistani bowling? Who do you think gained the upper hand?

R.R : Well Pommie, firstly i want to say that I was once again eager to see how Pakistan would play in only their 2nd 20-20.I thought that South Africa would win this due to the fact in 20-20 experience, and that they are at home.

And now lets start with the South African's Innings. Well 203 in a 20-20 is a mammoth total. But I feel that Pakistan were not bowling a tight line and that is what you must, must do in a 20-20 as it is very quickly paced. I think the only bowler to cause any concern was Rana Naved despite going for runs he tried his 100% best to get wickets and stop the South African run rate going even more higher.

As for the batting however AB De Villiers set the tone early scoring a quickfire 18 off 18 balls. Skipper Smith played very well indeed for his 36. But I think who really took the game away from the Pakistani's was Herchelle Gibbs scoring 9 Sixes and just 1 boundary. Also All-rounder Jaques Kallis played a leading role scoring a half-century in quicktime. Also with a late flurry in the end.

P.M : And what about the Pakistani run chase? The collapse and how they can improve for the upcoming ODI Series?

R.R : Well first of all they were in a lot of bother when Hafeez and Kamran Akmal went inside 5 overs. Imran Nazir to me was the most settled-in person and looked confident from ball 1 taking the attack to Pollock and Ntini. But then he got a beauty from Ntini. There was nothing he could do. Then Shoaib Malik just played a holding role as at the other end he just saw losing wickets. Afridi,Razzaq,Zulqarnaine all failed to impress with the bat. And as a result Zulqarnaine's chances of being in the ODI Series may be in jeopardy.
Robin Peterson has proven he's good enough for the ODI Series by taking 3/24
