Pakistan tour of Australia (Dec 2016 - Jan 2017)

I think this was Australia's weak team, inexperienced team, compared to the previous teams, in the previous series. If Pakistan couldn't beat this team, then our team needs some big changes!

@Umair2000 will you be posting stats about Australia's record in Asia when they are being whitewashed? :D

Sarfraz has managed to save his place. Misbah has to retire now.

Mark my words, Billy Stanlake will take a 5-fer on debut.

Wow, the Stanlake pick was left-field. Could be the surprise factor that Australia need right now. Picking Lynn is an extremely good move too.

It's really amusing that some days back I voted Pakistan for the best team of 2016 and now they've lost a series 3-0 to Australia in the opening month of this year.

Ed: I just checked the scorecard. Australians smashed runs at the rate of 7.53 rpo in their second innings. Seriously what have you made to yourself Pakistan? That run rate is so ridiculous.

This was more about mental toughness and leadership than talent to sum up the series. Pakistan's attitude was defensive because they possess a defensive leader who has always looked for excuses to loose a match. Secondly, Its better that Pakistan lost this match, Had Pakistan managed to draw this, Misbah would have announced "Youm-e-Tashukar" right at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The approach and negativity was clear from Misbah as a leader when he celebrated like anything after the loss of Gabba Test Match, That "Hey, I can't tell you my happiness in words..." (I am so happy to loose a test match after getting so close) I agree that it was great effort by Shafiq and out of nowhere the team bounced back due to his individual brillance and Aussies were on backfoot, but You got to take care and win the next two matches to win the series. The chance of your lifetime... And Your intent were not for winning... You were just there to draw the test series somehow.. Boy that was not England....

Pakistan doesn't need big changes... They need a good strong mental approach and that only can be done by an attacking undisputed Captain but Oh well....

PS: Listened Ian Chappel short analysis on the series. He was a bit too harsh by saying that Cricket Australia should say to Pakistan that if you are consistent with this performance than sorry we have to think about next time. I think he has forgotten that how brutally Aussies got beat up in UAE conditions and you should never forget that Pakistan toured Australia after six years unlike India and any other country.... You got to show some respect. If not, Then why not tour Pakistan or UAE this Year?

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have never won a Test Match in Aus!

Pak last Win was in 1995
Ind last Win was in 2008

AUS record in Asia is better than Asian Teams record in AUS!

Lanka won a test series against AUS after 17 years (1999-2016)
Pakistan won a test series against AUS after 20 years (1994-2014)

Except for INDIA every Asian Team sucks against AUS!

Stanlake hopefully will do a better job than Worrall & Mennie! LIST A Average:40+
It's sad that Joel Paris is always injured :(
Great Talent !!!!!

You're so delusional. That record in Asia will get much, much worse. You have the courage to defend Australia's performance in Asia only thanks to two series wins in 2004 against India and 2002 against Pakistan, thanks to the great team you had. But now, you'll get your ass kicked every time you go to Asia. Handscomb, Renshaw and Cartwright won't survive the series against India, mark my words. Warner has one century in Asia in 9 matches, and that too on the flattest track in Asia. Khawaja has one fifty in 15 First Class innings in Asia. Starc averaged more than him against SL!
Pakistan didn't play at "home" against Australia between 2002 and 2014. We would've won much earlier if Australia had played.

Yup we will most likely get trashed but why are you worried so much about AUS??

PS: Two in UAE / One In England ! (not AUS fault!)

3 outside AUS :)

1 AUS / 1 PAK / 1 DRAW

Cartwright not sure if he will play in India!
Marsh is fit again (Shaun Marsh)
Khawaja I know he has a terrible record in Asia :)
Handscomb is actually good against Spin :)

Oh atleast we have won a series unlike Asian Teams :)

One in 13 years. You were lucky not to lose the 2003 series against India. Bucknor saved you.

Cartwright or Maxwell or Head.
Shaun Marsh won't play. Your selectors will stick with Khawaja for the first two matches thanks to his performance at home.
Handscomb's technique is a terrible one against spin.

I think Travis Head should play. He can also bowl off spin as well, which is a plus for the captain, and he did well on that Australia A team tour of India. He knows how to play spin well and I hope he is selected ahead of Maxwell or Cartwright. Nevill needs to come back ahead of Wade, who has been struggling since the Adelaide Test match aganist South Africa. He hasn't made more than 29 since his return.

It's interesting to see the Pakistani fans reaction now to the NZ and Australia tours, considering most of them were upbeat because they drew the series in England, which is of course is understandable. I think it's time to drop Amir now because he lost his magic before the match fixing and he hasn't produced a whole lot of wickets since his return. The Pakistani selectors seem to want to go with experience more than youth. Mir Hamza I've heard is a good bowler and there is Tabish Khan out there as well, but the selectors do not seem to be not mindful of them. The fast bowlers were useless in conditions that favoured them. I thought Yasir Shah will do well on the MCG and SCG tracks, but sadly he got smashed around.

I am looking forward to the ODI's but still Australia again have the edge.

India tours Aus more than any other Asian Team specially Pakistan. Correct me if I am mistaken.
