Pakistan v Australia: Steve O'Keefe takes Hauritz's spot in Test squad | Cricket News | Pakistan v Australia 2010 | Cricinfo.com

I wonder what our bowling attack will look like. You would think Smith would replace Hauritz but he is treated more like an all-rounder.
Yeah funny that, he made four centuries last season and for some reason they think he can bat.

I think Smith would be treated as the 4th bowler, but considering the lack of Haddin and Paine's first class record, he might well be the 7th batsman.

On the one hand these young spinners are unproven, but on the other, England can produce good pitches for spinners and more to the point, Pakistan have shown a tendency to lack resolve.

Are you kidding me! STEVE O'-tweaking-KEEFE!

He's bloody lucky Holland is having surgery but what about Beau Casson or Xavier Doherty. I'd rather see Cameron Boyce or Cameron White. Steve O'Keefe! Are you kidding! No bigger spud....

He has an annoyingly good record :p But still, Steve O'Keefe....

Haha, did you hear Brendon Julian before the match? They were talking about it all, he goes "And ANOTHER NSW player has joined the Australian squad..."

Then Waugh was mentioning others.
Waugh: "Xavier Doherty can feel mighty unlucky."
Julian: *not intended to be heard* "Must be wearing the wrong jumper..."

:D

After two sixes from Aamer Pakistan has declared against Kent.

Pakistanis 360 & 264/4d (65.0 ov)
Kent 259

Pakistanis lead by 365 runs with 6 wickets remaining

They have enough runs, but not much time to bowl out Kent.

should have let aamer complete his maiden first class 50!

AUS might as well play 4 seamers vs PAK in the tests. The fact that O'Keefe has been called up means the selectors do have some sense & realise that Smith is not a test bowler ATM.

Kent is actually trying to chase down the 366 runs.

129/1 from 24 overs is not bad at all.

Yea it's a given, Smith was going to come in for Hauritz last time round and now it's a certainty since hes not here. There is no batsmen to drop to play Smith so he will have to go into the 8 spot.

I don't mind the selection of O'Keefe as backup spinner to be honest. Doherty's name has been thrown around and he had a decent domestic season with 12 wickets at 24.25 over 3 matches but a career first class average of 51.39 doesn't exactly inspire.

Wahab Riaz is a pretty handy left arm quickie. I have seen him bowl at 90 MPH and he can swing the ball into the right hander. I think the lad has a future ahead of him.
