Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

I woke up at 12pm over in England and thought the match would be over but damn it was close, Pakistan should have lost only 1 or 2 wickets and didnt

That's what happens when a team forgets how to win...and also the fact that we have a weak batting lineup.
I knew they were going to play like this, but was pretty confident they'll still win in the end because of only 40 runs. A couple of edges, slogs, and the pressure comes off.

and Finally we have found a captain who is actually well spoken and a good at communication..Butt's presentation speech was very good where he thanked ECB and dedicated the win to fans back home.

Shaun Tait, are you considering making a comeback to Test cricket for the Ashes? We need someone with your incredible pace.

Great win of Pakistan.

Only Pakistan can make such an easy win so difficult.

Well played Pakistan.

Liked the final spell from Johnson, he should have bowled like that earlier :facepalm The reason why he sprays the ball around is because he tries to bowl as fast as he can no matter what the conditions are but in the final spell he just concentrated on getting his line and length right and had Akmal in all sorts of trouble.

Btw the whole Pakistan v Australia in England thing has been awesome including the T20s, these are some of the best cricket I've watched for a really long time. Pakistan vs. England should be interesting also cause whenever Pakistan tours England, you know there's always gonna be something special.

I think that Johnson might suffer from the yips every now and again. His bowling seems to follow patterns that are seen in Golf and particularly Darts (dartitis). I think there's something mentally where he struggles to let go of the ball.

This added to the slingy nature of his action means that when he releases too early its sprayed wide of the right hander and when too late strangled down legside.

This condition also seems to ease when he's in a do or die situation when he doesn't have time to over think. Just a thought but from what I've seen its whats happening.

This match from Day 1 belonged to Pakistan & Really good to see them win :)

Just lost quite a bit of vCash but it's worth it I suppose. Good to see Pakistan winning something.

Pakistan certainly did their best to almost blow that game but they deserved that win and hopefully now the selectors start taking notice of those collapses.

Yep in that ways it's great that Australia'a lost. Wins over the summer v pretty poor Pak, WI and NZ sides have made the Aussies look better than they really are. We didn't need another win where we didn't really play well.

And of course it's only going to add more questions about the Aussie batting lineup. The only guy I'd really like to see get a go is Phil Hughes - and I'd probably give him a go at #6. Main reason being I think Watson and Katich look better against pace than spin, while Hughes seems about even. I think Smith's not quite ready to bat at #6, maybe #7 at the highest for now and I'm a bit concerned how White would go. Might be a touch early for Ferguson or Usman. I'd look at them as long term replacements for Ponting and Hussey.

The bowlers just needed more work I think which is something I knew would be a big problem before the series began. I think Doug, Hilf and Mitch are still our best trio (barring an amazing Brett Lee comeback or Shaun Tait becoming the world's fittest man).

And I'd like to add and bit of congrats to Pakistan. You finally got us :) It was mainly through some top class bowling - Asif and Aamer in particular are top bowlers. Find another couple of batsmen who can hang around and Pakistan will be very dangerous.

Will Hughes even be fit for our next test series? Even then he will be a risk as would be the case for any player coming back from injury especially one that isn't established at this level. Khawaja looks be the sort of player we need, good technique and the temperament to score runs consistently.

North has been a real let down, I was one that campaigned to have him in the side for his fighting ability, which just so happens to be the reason the selectors picked him. Little did I know, he has a pretty similar record in Shield cricket according to an article I read awhile back.
