Who said he is old?Pakistan reay need him ATM.Misbah might be old but he has the experience and Pakistan need that in the absence of Malik and Younis.

They should bring in Hammad Azam

I am not in favour of playing Hammad Azam.He is too young and I dont think he will be able to perform aginst Aussie's or other top International teams.

Pakistan will not win the series like the last.

I totally agree to Afridi coming back. He is a better bowler than Kaneria. Infact I will be gutted if Kaneria still manages to get selected with match fixing clouds hanging over his head. Afridi would be a better choice as leg spinner and will also lend the X-Factor that Pakistan lacks and so desperately needs. IF Akhtar is fit, he should be selected. Akhtar, Aamer and Asif will be a very potent attack in English Conditions. I expect Asif to do really well there if he focuses on cricket only. Also our bowlers need to bowl really straight. Only option to get wickets for them will be LBW/bowled keeping in mind Kamran Akmal : will be keeping wickets :sarcasm

Pakistan return to where it's horrors of cricket began.

Up to this point (in 2006), Pakistan had successfully beaten England, India, and Sri Lanka in successive test series, with Inzamam having 9 consecutive 50's in 9 innings against England as well as being ranked #2 in test match cricket.

It's time to put the demons to rest.

Demons unfortunately, reside within. The fat Demon also known as Ijaz Butthole must first be exorcised out of PCB. That guy is a lunatic. He says something and in the next instant, denies having said it. I think Pakistan should bring in Younis Khan and appoint him the captain. All the group-makers in the team should be kicked out. Its not like we can't win without Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik and Yousaf. We have lost in Australia with all the above players in the team. Strong steps need to be taken to put our cricket back on track. Captain has to empowered to remove all the trouble makers.

Akthar is a debatable call. If he is fit maybe, considering Gul has been out of sorts and we dont really have much quality depth. Not Sami please!!
For us to win though, its our batsmen who need to step up. The bowlers did a pretty decent job in Australia and did their job in winning the second test. We all know what happened then.
The opening is an interesting question. Salman Butt should be there but its his partner that raises questions. Farhat is riding on the century he scored in NZ, but he hasnt done anything noteworthy and tends to give his wicket away cheaply. Khuram Mansoor is a likely candidate.
I am also hoping Younis Khan clears out before the series, he hasnt been found of much wrong-doing so if he comes back, Pakistan should appoint him as the captain, there are not many players that can safely hold on to their position in TESTs.
The batting looks very thin, and that is the biggest concern for us.

lol you're right. But that is because we've had some very close games with Australia recently that we lost..so before every new game there is some hope that this time they won't make the same mistakes..but our players never learn.

If Asif gets the right conditions, he could make a mess of the Aussie line-up in with the swinging ball. They (the Aussies) are really prone to collapsing these days.

Having Akhtar is bit of gamble and Idiot PCB is just know how to play gambling. What I think is Akhtar now can not simply walk through any top lineup on the basis of his steamy pace only.

In all honesty, I don't visit PP (don't have the time), but thats interesting.

I don't think Akhtar will play in test matches. Pakistan have got to bring in a new fast bowler. We need a good quickie to back aamer and asif. I am sure there are guys who can fill in the third seamer spot in the team. We have got Muhammad Irfan in the preliminary squad. Lets see what unravels but selector will have a tough time picking the squad for Asia cup and England Series.
