Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

Bit harsh on Hilfy there Robelinda, I would say he was more a genuine 10 than an 11 before his injury. He could stay around longer than the Chris Martin/McGrath but not as long as the Gillespies. No question it has improved though, from the A game you could see he would be very handy with the bat now.

I was just like to thank the English crowd that has turned up. They don't have a country to support, but they are just there to support good old fashioned test cricket. 15,000 people show up to watch two neutral sides play on a Tuesday is an amazing gesture from the English crowd.

Their response is very even for both sides and they applause good cricket. Thank you England, you have been a great host.

Actually, I think they're just here to watch Australia lose :p

this match is as good as over by tea tomorrow, possibly even before that if Butt falls early. I'm not expecting much from Akmal brothers.
However I will be happy if Pakistan manage to score 350 something, that would be something special from this batting lineup

If Smith gets some curve on the ball, he can bowl the right-handers behind their legs as the rough is quite full.

I request my fellow Pakistanis here not to raise their hopes too much. Its going to hurt really bad. A team that lets tailenders score easy fifties, can not and should not win the match. If they had got Hilfy and Pain out earlier with better planning, things would have looked much brighter for Pakistan. As of now, we will be all out before tea.:facepalm

Hopefully Afridi gives me some more material for my video :p

On a serious note, Butt always seems to perform against the Aussies and on pacy wickets, he is an anomaly amongst his teammates

Yes, Butt has got two hundred in Australia iirc. He is definitely an anomaly. Even our best player like Yousaf and Inzimam have failed in Australia. He averages 48 against the Aussies.

Butt is an good opener but sometime i feel that pakistan have not maintained him well.

He is performing consistantly over the past year or so

Farhat and Butt average about the same, maybe the Pak fans could shed some light as to why Farhat MUST be dropped? He was averaging more than Butt at the start of the test.

Farhat isn't in form and Butt is in form. Butt has been making more runs them him in the past Tests. Also Afridi has a higher Test average then both these guys and yet he wasn't selected for almost four years. It's the form that counts.

On the other hand Pakistan has been consistently changing their opening batsmen. Maybe it's time to stick to the current openers and give them confidence.

Just watching Ch 9, they are about to show a breaking story involving an Aussie player who has a child with a flight attendant, is that Brett Lee??

Where is Brett Lee?

Brett Lee has retired from Test cricket and is currently injured. Maybe he spent the time by making babies. :laugh
