It's not about attacking. Being positive is a good thing. They should be positive and be attacking, the only reason they are getting runs so quickly is not because they are being adventurous (although as I say that, Umar decides to come down the track for the second time, he should be careful not to take North too lightly) but because the bowling is rubbish.

One of the reasons Pakistan has been unsuccessful against Australia is that they don't attack the bad balls, the fact that they are doing that here is a good sign. Thus I hope they keep being positive without being too adventurous, something the captain should learn as well.

Guys that late cut spinners or cut with a horizontal bat seem to regularly get caught at slip. I much prefer the method of backfoot driving the short ball from the spinners, like a fair few test batsmen do, Akmal and strauss are two who are just asking to be caught behind- how often is Strauss out to that same shot, trying to force a ball that could be punched rather than cut.
