Pakistan may get tantalisingly close, but I doubt they'll make it to 440. There is always a chance, but slim. I would expect them to be a lot nearer to or past 300 for four down before I'd build up their chances. They also have a bit of a tail, much would hinge for me on the next couple of partnerships.

Y-O-Y-O-Y-O-Y did they drop/dispense with Yousuf Youhana and whatsisface Khan? The kind of experience and steel that might just have added the extra runs that won Pakistan this match

Just thought I'd throw that out there. 223 needed, so that's Amin with 111, Kamran Akmal with 51, Afridi 68 and then 24 from Gul, Amir, Asif and Kaneria. Pakistan win with 9 wickets down. Easy

If Australia get to Afridi, they can consider themselves in the driver's seat. Afridi will swing for sometime and get out. The current pair needs to stay as much and eat into the remaining runs as much as possible. If Afridi comes in with less than 100 needed, it would be better for Pakistan.

I suppose Afridi fans will tell you that this was the best option under the circumstances.

This is exactly what I meant when I panned his first innings batting. It doesn't always work, you might get 30 odd in an innings but more often than nought, in Test matches you'll get out. Afridi has made like 32 runs in two innings. I cannot fathom how some people can defend his style of play (especially in test matches).
