It's also worth noting that Trott seems to be playing the spin a hell of alot better than he was earlier in the year. He's actually been able to knock the spin around for singles; something which against Bangladesh he seemed completely unable to do.

Not to take anything away from Trott (who has played brilliantly) but our spinner is not really Test class. The man hardly drifts the ball, doesn't loop the ball at all (the only two variations in pace being fast and faster) and bowls the doosra way too frequently.

All credit to Broad, I dont like him at all, but this is some amazing effort with his team at 100/7 when he came in as a tailender, albeit a more than handy one, to come in and make a classy ton and still be there at 430/7 is almost unheard of. 168* right now, hats off. I figured he'd make a ton at some point but boy this is excellent.

Why was that overuled? I still don't see the point of the "over two metre" thing if they just ignore it.

Obviously it was plumb but I just think they should get rid of the "over two metre" thing completely.
