Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

Well he's playing it like a T20 because the game has gone and he has nothing to lose. Takes a bit of luck but certainly possible.

Umar Akmal shows how easy it is to bat by grabbing a fifty. His strikerate is above 100 now.

Like barmy said, he's just playing a T20. It's not like England is trying to hard, they're just waiting for the batsmen to get themselves out. Hence, the success of Akmal. I doubt he'd be allowed to play as freely had the circumstances been different.

Actually Umar Akmal always plays like he is in a Twenty20. :laugh Some of his previous innings prove it.

He formed a 50 runs partnership with Asif, with Asif only scoring 1 run.

The great thing is that Umar Akmal has tried to shield Asif as much as possible. Except for the upcoming over. Asif have to face 6 balls against Swann.

Well, that's what happens. Asif had to face Swann and Asif is out.

I've been waiting 25 minutes for that. So there won't be a press conference shown on TV?

Amir receives a cheque for being Pakistan's player of the series. Don't think he needs the money to be honest.

:laugh

It's actually for the money they did it.

Aamir Sohail had a bit of sympathy for Amir. He said Amir is just a kid and he came into a bad enviroment. If he is in a bad environment he tend to go along with the rest of the group. In that way he is right: if the senior players show the bad example and he refuses to go along he could have felt out of the team.

And it has to be said, that except for these no balls, Amir bowled great. Not great feelings for the rest of the senior players. They should have known better to not get mixed up with this.

Somebody knows whether the ODI series (Twenty20's included) will go on? At the moment I see no sign that it will be cancelled.

I know hence why he doesn't need the money from winning the man of the series award.

The team manager has had a press conference he says that the ODI series will go ahead as planned.

I know they're hard to separate but please can we keep this thread for what is happening on the pitch and keep the allegations in the CD thread.

I would actually suggest the mods to keep this thread closed for a while so that all the discussion is done in the CD forums thread. I cannot see people discussion the actual cricket for a while now, not for the next couple of days till more of this unravels.

Why? Since Barmy has put up the aforementioned post everyone has been using the other thread.

The things mentioned since have been more relevant here than they would be in the other thread.

Dude, bad influence or not, the fact is that he did it and he has to be held responsible. One has one's own sense of morality as well which clearly he lacks. I would also like to remind you that if the Majeed guy is to be believed, the team does not restrict itself to spot fixing, rather match fizing is common as well and one of the reasons why match fixing didn't come into play in these two tests is because they wanted Butt to win the matches so that they all could profit long term. He also stated that they were willing to underperform under Afridi so that Butt becomes captain in all formats. Needless to say that there is no proof about this (as far as I know) but I wouldn't put it past people who are willing to indulge in spot fixign and the odd match fixing. How can you feel sympathy for someone like that?
As for him being just a kid, he's atleast 21 so it's not like he's not an adult.

I think Pakistani players are just wasting the efforts of Amir and Umar Akmal! Both of them have performed immensely great in almost all of their recent matches but lack of team support have never helped them.:(
