Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

September 5th is when the 1st Twenty20 is.

I hope that Pietersen loosens his shackles somewhat during this series. I think that he needs to just start playing the ball that is in front of him. He seems to be over-complicating things at the moment.

Hopefully that hack Bresnan doesn't get a game; can't stand him and his bowling is dreadful.

If Amir and Asif are banned, (which is going to be almost certainly), then you (England) are the favourites.

I also feel 4 the young lad aamir , who has ruined his carrier i guess ??

Amir ruined his career. You can't blame it on influence, he had Waqar Younis as the coach if he had Asif as his teammate.

Come to think of it that perfectly explains why an international team(pakistan) drops some of the most easy catches ever in this series.Catches that were almost impossible to drop.

They will be back by the World Cup at most if the management remains the same.

And I was getting good vibes from this new-look team..:facepalm
YA , PCB will bring them back sooner then the later , now the icc need to take strict actions against the culprits , PCB is dumb :doh

So trying to get the focus back on cricket a little, what would a reasonable Pakistan team look like without Salman, Kamran, Amir, Asif, Umar Armin and Riaz? You'd have to assume that with the allegations hanging over their head they wouldn't be allowed to keep playing.

Pakistan named 16 players in the ODI squad, and 4 reserves, so that would give them 14/15 players once the 7 are omitted (Amin wasn't in the squad originally) and the 4 reserves are called up, leaving them with something like this:
1 Shahzaib Hasan
2 Mohammad Hafeez
3 Mohammad Yousuf
4 Umar Akmal (if he's not the 7th guy...)
5 Fawad Alam
6 Shahid Afridi
7 Abdul Razzaq
8 Safraz Ahmed (wk)
9 Umar Gul
10 Shoaib Akhtar
11 Saeed Ajmal (if he's not the 7th guy...)

Azhar Ali (would replace Umar if he's involved)
Asad Shafiq
Mohammad Irfan
Abdur Rehman (would replace Ajmal if he's involved)

That would still be pretty decent I'd say. Especially if they are determined to prove the world wrong and play their hearts out.

I like how when you removed players who are currently tied up in some very controversial actions, the Pakistan team still has Afridi and Akhtar in it.

Also, if those guys involved aren't suspended pending an investigation (which would be the par for course in any rational organisation), I will love to see how our crowds react to them, particularly if we play at Old Trafford att some point.

In the Test rankings news:

Trott is now the best English batsman (16th position)
Broad has achieve his best ever batsman ranking (49th position)
Swann is the 2nd Test bowler in the world and is nearing Steyn.
Swann is followed by Asif and Anderson in the rankings.
Amir has achieved his best bowler rankings and is now at 8th position.
Finn has achieved his best bowler rankings and is now at 31st position.
