Well, Asad Shafiq is more deserving. Shoaib Malik showed dedication and good attitude as a substitute on the field maybe that's the reason of his inclusion today. We need a solid middle order batsman. Asad Shafiq has already proven himself several times that he's a fine middle order batsman. His confidence is even better than the senior middle order batsmen of our team. I hate this testing thing in Pakistan cricket and I don't see any new comer cementing his place with this system even after good performances. We see 3-4 new names in every new series and they disappear. It's time to focus the potential players and build them for the future. Saeed Ajmal won't bat in every inning to save the match. It's batsmen's responsibility.

I don't see why so many people hate Afridi.

Seems a bit full of himself. That's one reason. Biting the ball and dancing on the pitch with his spikes might be another. And constantly underperforming with bat might be a third. Some people are petty after all

But anyway, I enjoy watching him play, especially bowl.

That and he keeps retiring/unretiring. Outside of that though he still has got it and his bowling really has come along in the latter part of his career to the point where he is now a bowling all rounder. I do hope Pakistan build on this win and it wasn't just a flash in the pan. As for SL I do hope they improve as it would be good to see SA with a challenge.

Cricketing wise hes a brilliant cricketer. Won us the game singlehandedly. Lets keep our feet on the ground, and hope he continues performing with the bat.

Shafiq > Malik. No question. Pakistan played Malik not because of his batting skills but simply because hes the sixth bowler. Dont see him in the side because hes similar to Hafeez and the latter is in the form of his life.

The sides good, Gul is turning into a strike bowler but his partner is the only question. I had a feeling they were resting Junaid Khan, to reduce the workload on him, but I would like to see him in the final ODI partnering Gul.

Also must give credit to Ajmal as well. Ajmal's performance with both the bat and the bowl were superb and hes easily the most grittiest player in the Pakistan team. Every single time he gives 200% on the field with the bowl and the bat.

If Farhat is likely to stay in the side, I would like to seem him rotate his arm and if he can bowl 5-6 decent overs every game, we can push in Shafiq for Malik.

I would also like to give Razzaq or another fast bowling allrounder a stint in the side because thats the only spot thats open.

Great show by Afridi. This is strictly his victory. I hope Pakistan come hard in the fifth ODI as well.

Afridi was always a bowling all-rounder. The worse thing that happened to him was scoring those big scores early. From then on people in Pakistan seemed to think he was a batsman and spent many years shuffling him all over the place in the hope that something would ignite.

If he'd just failed a bit as a batsman and been able to work as a specialist bowler who provides the potential for real runs down the order and an aggressive cameo if needed I think he'd have made more use of his undoubted cricketing talent.

Razzaq also waste balls but gets out earlier than Malik.
Shoaib Malik was too defensive yesterday. How about Asad Shafiq in place of Malik?
