Southee is bowling brilliantly, he's all over them with that swing. I would've rather they opened with our young fast bowler rater than the batting all-rounder. Maybe they think Franklin has more control in the power plays or something.

Franklin swings the ball or he did last time I watched his bowling properly. His issue has been his pace but that isn't too much of a factor in swinging conditions so not the worst option to open.

Well NZ have a bad habit of allowing the opposition to regroup after having them against the ropes. Wouldn't be surprised for them to run through the Pakistan order only for Afridi or Razzaq to smash a quick 50 or ton.

Pakistan have a habit of proving us wrong so dont expect much from those as well

Good start so far from Oram, I reckon this is his best role as his bowling is more consistent than his batting and boy if he ever decides to fire with the bat then watch out.

Impressive wicket from Southee, I like how he took his time to set the batsman up for the straight one.

Oh that Shafiq dismissal was way too high. Looked decent from in front but from the side-on angle, you could say he was hard done by. Too bad there's no UDRS in this series.

Yep looked good live, boy hes bowling well again. Unlucky for Pakistan, that is where that UDRS could have been used well.

Well Ali, I think both of our line-ups would get absolutely shat on if they played in these conditions lol

30/6 would be more appropriate with our line-ups.
