Kaneria ruled out of the 3rd test

Danish Kaneria has been ruled out of the third and final test match between Pakistan and England on fitness grounds. This is due to an injury that he sustained during the second test match while fielding and thus was reduced to bowling half the overs he normally bowls. Kaneria's performance in the past year or so has been very commendable. In his absence, Shahid Afridi might be given another chance to show off his all-rounding skills in test cricket, though his inclusion is yet to be decided.

Pakistan will miss Kaneria's sharp-turning leg-spinners

yea danish is def a winner...just look at what he did yesterday in jamaica. as for inzi being captain....i think hell only play till the 07 cup and then retire. younis is good but maybe a bit old for taking over as captain? i think theyll give it to a younger kid shoaib malik or maybe even kamran akmal!

I can see Shoaib Malik doing it, as long as he doesn't throw any matches to prove a point. :p

Pakistan vs England - 3rd Test Match (Peshawar)

Preview:

After a sensational performance by England in the second test match against Pakistan, it has now finally come down to this last test. This test match will prove who is the better team under such great pressure to win. On one side we have Inzamam and his boys, who lost despite some great efforts in batting and bowling. On the other we have Vaughan's XI who got a great boost after pulling off an impossible win to level the series.

This last match of a great series will be held in the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. This will be the first time for England playing a test match in this venue, whereas Pakistan have played five tests here, each one producing a result for the home team (W3 - L2).

Line-ups:

There have been some changes in both line-ups. Due to an unfortunate injury, Danish Kaneria was replaced by the all-rounder Shahid Afridi. Shoaib Malik, who has yet to prove himself in test cricket, was replaced by Younis Khan. For England, Thorpe has ben taken out due to his poor form and is being replaced by all-rounder Paul Collingwood, whereas Butcher has sustained an injury and will be replaced by Ian Bell.

Pakistan win the toss and elect to bat:

Inzamam has won the toss for the third in this series and unlike the first two times, he has decided to bat. A wise decision by the home team captain especially with Younis Khan on his side batting on a good cricket pitch. The play will comence in a few minutes....stay tuned.

yea i agree with ya prowler...the match throwing just may have cost him the chance at holding the captaincy one day

Pakistan in trouble early on

Sorry for the delay guys, it was due to a death in the family..... :(

Pakistanis have gotten off to a bad start in the beginning of the first session. They lost Salman Butt and Younis Khan early in the inning, but opener Imran Nazir stuck around for a little bit until he too was ousted due to a runout. Pakistan's hopes were lifted a bit with Inzamam seemingly carrying on his form from the last match, but he failed to make a big score out of his good form by getting bowled by Giles at a relatively low score.

Sorry for the screenshots if they are too big. I'll make them smaller next time around. At lunch, Amir and Youhana were still batting, both at the score of 21 runs each. Here are the stats from the inning so far:

Pakistan 108/4 (27 overs) - Lunch (Day 1)
Y. Youhana 21*(25) | M. Amir 21*(21)
