[PCCL 2010] Feedback Thread

Why don't we have a PC World Of Cricket.

First, we merge the PCPL and the PCCL, and draft in more and more players. In the process creating a 'county type season' with FC, OD, T20 matches. Thus, increasing the amount of activity in the Cricsim forum.

When players are signing up for this, they would have to state their nation to play for, obviously, we will have lots of England, Australian and Indian players, but this gives players an opportunity to play for other countries, Like NZ, SL etc.

Then, we introduce an international season, with experienced members of PC becoming head of a country, like on Battrick. These Heads of Countries would then choose the best players from their country to represent them in Test Series, World Cups etc.

Ranking systems could be introduced, like the ICC rankings, but better.
Players would then be battling, and comparing themselves to other players.

This would mean that players would be given an incentive to post in their team threads to secure their place in the playing sides. Therefore, giving them the opportunity to play for their country.

A head comittee could be rounded up, with me and a few others, like there is in the PCPL, who could act as an ICC type group to oversee the running of this.

Then, in the winter, after the domestic summer season has finished, the International season could begin, and the domestic players could go down under for a Sub-Continent league.

We've had a PC Cricsim Ashes this summer, why not expand this into a whole 'World' of Cricket.

Basic Proposals:

Summer:
Northern Hemisphere League, including FC, OD and T20/5 matches.
International Cricket in the Upper Hemisphere, maybe a World Cup at some stage each year.

Winter:
Southern Hemispere League, including FC, OD and T20/5 matches.
International Cricket in the Southern Hemispere, with Northern Hemispere nations coming to tour in AUS, or in the Sub-Continent.


I think this could definitely work, and with a bit of help from the PC community, it could grow into something revoloutionary.

Will never happen. Simbazz doesn't want to merge the PCPL with PCCL and I don't see it ever happening.

it doesn't matter if simbazz doesn't want to merge, we just make a new league, and as our comittee will be the top of PC Cricket, the PCPL will become a rebel league like ICL.

i did send simbazz a pm about this, offering him a head roll on the comittee, whether he wants it or not is up to him

The comitee is me, Dean and Sohum, with others such as Zorax, Simbazz and Rhys putting their views in. So why are you suddenly in this offering things that you don't have the ability to give?

I have talked with Dean and he is going to have to give up his Cricsim responsibilities because he doesn't have time to do it anymore. I am going to be taking over Cricsim and will be announcing changes over the next couple of weeks.

Please continue to make any suggestions, keeping in mind that we will review the suggestions and make decisions on them appropriately.

okay, the comittee may be you and a few others, but none of you have had this idea, and you set this thread up in an open forum for people to post their ideas, as soon as i come up with an idea, you say 'why are you suddenly in this offering things'

if you didn't want the members of PC to post in here, don't leave it open.

Also, if this idea is put into practice, why should the idea be taken away from me and your comittee can make it look like it was yours.

It works on battrick, so why can't it work on here, we have enough members

I don't think a PCCL/PCPL merge will ever take place. If we were forced into it, then we'd probably have to take up the "rebel," tag, but again, I don't ever see me being forced into that position.

The PCCL is fine the way it is, there's just one or two things wrong, which with someone like Sohum being at the top of the ladder will get sorted out. (Sohum has simmed and done all the "big work," that is involved with cricsim so anything which makes it simpler will, i'm sure, be done.)

All Treva is saying is that you don't have the responsibility or acceptance to be part of the CricSim "committee." Like Treva said, theres 3 or 4 main guys and the likes of me (who's pretty experienced in CricSim) who lend ideas etc.

You can't just come along and basically say, "if you take my idea, I'll run it." Because if we take your idea, we'll run it.

ok, i take your views in.

I can see that it is going to be hard to put this idea into practice, because i will struggle to make it happen, and I can also see that the PCPL PCCL merge will never happen, which seems to be a major problem here.

If that is so, why don't we change the idea of a summer/winter leagues, into having the PCPL at one time of the year, and the PCCL at another time of the year, thus, the teams can then remain the same, and all we need to do is find heads of each country.

Hope this can be seen as a step forward in planning

There's not a problem with PCCL and PCPL. Generally they run rather nicely alongside each other. The only reason we've overlapped this time is because it was necessary.

okay, after that post i saw simbazz and trevs posts,

i know that i don't have much experience with cricsim, if you want the idea, have it. I can see and accept that you guys are brilliant at running the PCPL PCCL, so why do you want me to barge in.

It is just an idea that i think could work, and thought i'd put it forward as no-one else seems to have been giving a meaningful position.

Take the idea, and if you want to put it into practice, then I'll let you run it and just sit back and play for MD

I think I'll speak for all those who run/help out on cricsim and say thank you for the thought you've given it. Its great to see people who care as much as we do (we're all nerds really, Sohum has CricSim books, he even wrote one! ).
