Pitch Deterioration

It would be nice if this could be fixed in the next patch.
Because i seriously doubt anyone could play a test match in one sitting :o
I myself played a one dayer where batting first the pitch was full of cracks,i saved & exited then batted with the other team the next day & the pitch was pristine.

I doubt that anyone has in the history of cricket gaming! (apart from the guys testing the game maybe)

I've worked out that for me personally it's 45 minutes a session so times that by 15...it would take me just over 11 hours of non stop playing to complete a test match (if my maths is correct).

Ideally we'd like the pitch conditions to carry over from your last save.

Bunch of lightweights! Back in the BLC99 days a mate and I would often play for 5/6 hours at a time. Our longest session was a six in the evening until 9 the next morning marathon which ended when my mate got bowled and I turned around to him to see him slumped over with the controller still in his hands!!

Even these days I will quite often play games for 4/5 hours when I get the chance. Come October I'll have some time on my hands once again so will be purchasing DBC then and no doubt will be doing the same. Cannot tweaking wait!!!

Oh and yes pitch conditions should definitely carry over from saves.

^sad/no life^ lol only joking mate ;)

No offence taken man, just in the lucky enough position for the last few years that I get a lot of hours to myself at times. I like to spend my free-time fishing, reading or playing computer games. I used to run a weekly music night several years ago which used to take up about 10 hours of my week, add to that 1 day wiped out with a hangover and that was my work for the week. After 10 months of so I became so bored with having nothing to do all the time I started helping a mate out doing landscaping/ arborist work just to keep me sane!!!

This is day 5 of a test match.

The area circled blue is where there is slight deterioration but you can't really see it that well in the image.

So in order to get a realistic amount of pitch wear you have to enable 'Quick Pitch Wear'?

What mode was this in? Did you simulate to day 5? I ask because its really hit of miss for me in terms of seeing pitch wear :/

sorta related; I've noticed no visible ball wear when I've done long test match innings before. This is Console patch 2 and I've not tested it with 2.5, so it might have been fixed, I don't know...

I haven't noticed visible ball wear, but playing a FC game recently I came on to bowl in the 60th over and got no swing. Started shining the ball (X button on 360 controller) before every ball and within 3 or 4 overs it was moving about consistently.

AI team mates aren't looking after the cherry!

You get it in career games, but not in tests that you play. Then again, I obsessively shine the bloody ball, so that might be why...

This was competition mode, just a one off test match. I played out the whole match, there was no simulation at all.

Yeap , the problem seems to be , as soon as you hit save and come back the next day , or do the Simulation , then the Pitch deterioration vanishes.

@fiction are you able to clarify once and for all, put it to bed, for everyone exactly what influence pitch type, pitch wear, wind, temperature and humidity have on the state of play? Its a complete mystery. A nice neat explanation or table would be great. Cos there has been nothing from you guys that confirms anything reading back. Thanks

Also, rarely, very rarely, the sky appears dark and menacing with clouds. But it seems to only slightly correlate with the chance of rain. There seems to be no correlation between cloud cover as indicated on the weather-board and what is in the sky during the game. 99% of games are played in bright sunshine. What's the go with cloud cover in the game? Would love to see this so its not as predictable and doesn't feel like your playing the same game in the same weather conditions - everytime.

The cracks do appear when you play without simulating. I even noticed 2-3 balls spinning more than the others when bounced on a crack. The problem is: The game does not save the pitch state and it resets to the original state when you load :/
