IPL Players retention for season 7

This player retention thing is one of the main reasons why the IPL will not really be taken seriously outside of India. How are the fans expected to keep a hold of which player is on which team, when the majority of players would have played for 3 teams in the last four seasons (after 2014). Pretty much why I gave up following the IPL after the third year.

----------

Interesting that Vettori is now supposedly coaching one of the teams, guess thats the end of his NZ career.

----------

I'm pretty sure the retention policy does exactly the opposite of what you said it does. How can an fan be loyal when the players shuffle around teams so often?

Oh... So you don't even want any shuffling? Thats something I would want to. But with new teams constantly being added and ejected, its something that I've come to live with.

----------

honestly as much as i like badri and would like him to get a test cap before he retires, i personally think he would hav performed much better in SA than rohit.

I always see him as a liability in ipl, cant bowl, isnt the the quickest on field, slow rate ,i would accept the slow rate if he was a crisis man, but he hardly performs when wickets tumble, but slows down the juggernaut when everything runs fine.

----------

if only csk can sign in steyn

Badri not quick on the field? Well tell me, which Badri are you talking about? As in Subramaniam Badrinath?

Well if yes, he is one of CSK's quickest fielders in the circle. He has always been a very agile and an excellent fielder in domestic cricket.

----------

Manan Vohra is a legend by now. -_-

What do you expect when you have Preity Zinta as the team owner?:p KXIP has always been about zero logic in every auction/every IPL squad selection.

The "right to match" is really funny IMO. Bid on a player- fight with some other team and get him for a price and then his previous team uses RTM:rolleyes.

I am afraid- Sehwag, KP, Warner- they all will be back to DD with RTM stuff.

ya the same badri, that eats balls when he has to score quickly with wickets in hand ,look im no badri basher i didnt say he is a liability on the field like ashwin , just he 's nt the quickest, he is 33 and as quick as he is we cant expect jadeja or raina quick from him, we can surely say we will have jadeja for just his fielding and a few overs ,i cant say the same about badri,
I think the national selectors have been unfair to him at the peak, he could have easily made to test side , still hoping he gets a place in test side probly do a chris rogers atleast overseas.

lol ya that team has been running on group hugs and 'ALL is Well ' mantra for sometime.

Yeh, I'm pretty sure if Mitchell Johnson gets picked up by any team other than MI, they will use the RTM.

Sehwag? Really? I'm not so sure.

Yeah. But one possibility of they being unable to use RTM is pretty much wide open- in case if Mumbai fall short of purse, which happens only is Mitch goes under hammer too late.

Sehwag? Really? I'm not so sure.
Now the controversy has already started. Delhi will lose its fan base, just like how RCB & KKR lost in 2011. Thankfully RCB luckily got Gayle which kept the absence of Dravid to minimum and I remember in Eden Gardens, there was no body except the DJs and DC fans in 2011- KKR v DC because of absence of Ganguly. That may repeat in Feroz Shah Kotla.

Fair enough, but I don't think the fans share the same kind of emotion/passion as was the case with Ganguly. Of course, I could wrong.

People are busy talking about mitch but non about maxi he worth more than johnson the main reason being his game chainging ability hope you guys understand bowlers alway go for atleast 7-7.5 rpo (expect in a rare ocation on or under 6) but investing in a guy like maxi makes more sense think if he even strikes at 140-150 at no 5 or 6 he does make your bill count. I still belive guys remember PWI players will be in auctions there are around 12-13 class players who can take a large bill home

Yeah, I agree you mate. Maxwell can score more runs with a massive strike rate of 140-160. He worth more there and just hope MI will win the race for him.
Btw, Has Corey Anderson booked his name for Auctions?

I think Aaron Finch will cash in some big bucks. Last year, none of these team owners would have known about him because he was not seen at the International level but this time around it's different. People now know him and he can make some serious impact at the top of the order.

Its automatic sellection mate :) how can one leave a guy like him who just broke the world record

Why are there no Pakistan players involved in the IPL?

Really happy to see that rcb retained their big guns gayle , ab and virat probably I think we should have retained zaheer khan as well
