The litmus test would be the UP state elections early next year.
In UP, most of the people vote on the basis of religion and caste.

Hindus except Yadavs vote for BJP
Muslims and Yadavs vote for SP
Dalits vote for BSP

Agree! This time though, it might be different.

The current pandemic hasn't spared anyone. Bhakts have lost loved ones. Lesser and lesser bhakts are chanting pro-yogi/pro-modi mantras nowadays. People might vote on the basis of actual promises rather than caste. But, I could very well be wrong :)

The current turn of events would probably not matter much in the long run. Emotions are quite high right now so we are seeing anti-incumbency trends. I'm pretty sure these will go away soon once things get back to normal.

The Modi wave is not a myth. It's a reality. We saw something similar in 2018-19 where BJP were on a losing spree in state elections. That did not matter at all when it came to Lok Sabha elections. Ram Mandir will probably get ready by 2024 and that will fetch them the lost votes (if any) and I think there's nothing wrong in that. They are delivering on the promises they made, so the majority of the public who voted them for those promises will repay them via votes.

Add to this that there is literally zero opposition, I do not see anything but a win for them in 2024 too. You gotta give credit to their social media/TV presence though. They have made Rahul Gandhi a laughing stock and the Congress party irrelevant. They identified their biggest threat and nullified it.

There are talks that AAP might foray into National level but 3 years is too less a time to make any significant impact. On the other hand, Yogi is already heralded as the next sure shot PM candidate for 2029. I think BJP is safe for at least the next 2 terms at the very least and that's a very conservative assessment.

And oh yes, Kangana Raunat is soon-to-be a BJP MLA. I think that's her goal as well.

This seems to be certain. There is literally no life to any party in opposition to fight Mighty BJP

Is it true that BJP workers are being thrashed & killed in WB? Not surprised! It's always this way in WB, there were similar reports when CPI was thrown out of power after decades of ruling in WB in 2011.

BJP IT cell is now calling themselves as victims and asking Amit Shah to interfere. Before that, it has be verified that the violence in Bengal is not planted by BJP itself. Because we have seen such incident before wherein BJP incites violence and call themselves as victims. Ex: Delhi Riots (2020)
There certainly was post poll violence. It happens almost always in states like Bengal, UP. Both sides indulge in it. Same happened this time too. BJP just tried to be over smart and score points by activating their IT cell - unfortunately for them, got called out within 24 hours on all the fake news they were spreading by the general public and on social media.

Modi wave is definitely not a myth. But it is no longer as potent as it was a couple of years back. People have been wising up to his shenanigans and string of lies that him and his party members has been spouting over the past year or so. And their absolutely disastrous handling of the pandemic has pushed the fence sitters against them. Things can change in another 2 years no doubt - but some of these scars will not heal so easily either.

Lack of opposition is a concern. And because of this I do not think they will lose. But their vote share is certainly going to take a hit. 2028 might be where they falter IMO

The Mandir will be built soon, and the vote bank will be ready.

Opened back up the economy too fast and I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt over the lapse in Oxygen supplies but he failed to put in the vaccine orders in a timely manner. The Indian middle class is finally seeing first hand the fraud this man Modi is! Sadly it costs over 2million lives per week to defeat the Modi myth!

Our country is doomed. Classic arm twisting for going against the people in power

Chronology:
  1. Sambit 'The idiot' Patra shares fake news and IT cell shares it like anything to divert from real crisis
  2. Called out by Congress openly for sharing Fake news
  3. Congress files FIR
  4. Twitter marks Sambit's post as containing doctored info
  5. Delhi Police, suddenly the epitome of justice, goes up in arms against Twitter under the garb of investigation (DP is controlled by central forces)
  6. Twitter offices are raided
How often have we seen this happening now?

Weren't Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap raided last month? What happened there?

Author has nicely summarised Modi's performance in his 2nd term. I suggest everyone to read it irrespective of your loyalty.

Your enthusiasm in Indian politics is commendable. Very few outsiders actually dwell dive into this turmoil.
I occasionally catch things, like that article. My interest probably wouldn't be as high were it not for being on this forum where there's plenty of people living through it. It's easy to look in from the outside.

It's hard to ignore the ugly politics that is taking greater control across the world though. The pandemic has only made it worse.
