So, on the record... you're basically saying you would prefer EA Sports to make a cricket game than small companies like Big Ant/Trickstar?
Good to know.

Again, it was about 505's approach at Lords. No Chief, no Trickstar and no Ross.

For the record, everyone would be happy if EA made a game too and make it 3 companies. But never did I say about making a game. I think 505/Trickstar have done a great job by bravely approaching to make another cricket game and believing in us when we had nothing for years.

This I agree with. There can never be too many developers/companies working on cricket video games :yes I would love to see EA develop a cricket game and reuse MLB The Show's engine for the cricket game. I think once the next gen consoles (Xbox One & PS4) hit the market, EA might develop a cricket game.

The reason I loved EA was the detailed stats that they provided. Though, I know they could be better but the off the field stuff was close to perfect with EA. You had every stat you could think of in tours and series. Everything from most runs, wickets, catches, 100s. They incorporated MOTM and MOTT/MOTS (no ceremony but still).

Though the gameplay could have been slightly better, that's what keeps me hooked to EA.

EA will never make a cricket game.

They disbanded the only part of the business that could do it - EAP.

If EA makes another game some of the things like a full blown career mode, in depth stats tracking, on demand replays etc. would be a given as EA already have these things done for other sports titles. IMO EA Cricket 2007 was pretty close to nailing the game. They had to tweak Century Stick a bit, add 360 degree batting control, add career mode, update AI a bit and we have better than a decent cricket game. Pity EA closed shop for cricket in the short to mid term.

Yup until sub-continent becomes a viable video gaming market which is some way off. I'm hoping they might get into cricket game once they have nailed the engine for their sports titles for next gen consoles. I mean if most of the stuff exists they might take a punt on cricket, but yeah even that is long time away.

But I'm more than happy we have you in our corner :cheers

Though I hardly know much about AC13, I can tell you at least that Ross has got on board detailed stats tracking and stuff (have a go at CA & see the depth of stats if you wish).
Ross, can you tell us a bit about MOTM feature if you've included that as well?

well... I have given screenshots, early Beta admittedly, but screenshots nonetheless and you have Cricket Academy too. I don't think that's equal, but hey everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Yes Ross, and I appreciate all that, believe me. But here is the problem, We have all heard how great and amazing this game is...without really knowing when we would get to play it. Put yourself in our place as a consumer. You being told a game is in development which will be everything that you have dreamt of a perfect game of your favorite sports having without knowing when you would get to play it. We were given a small taste of it by CA and guess what that did. I believe It made most here even more eager for the game. U know the danger of giving a hungry person a sniff of the most delicious food and not letting him eat it :p

Or....in the case of a hungry person even a sniff of an undercooked food *cough* ashes *cough* can make him frustrated for not getting to eat it.

P.s. you were right...if ashes game doesnt live upto the expectation it can make consumers reject your game also. Look at the effect it is having on me for not releasing anything at all...its getting me mad at this game also lol.

Lets hope Big ant deliver a good if not great cricket game and then keep the legacy with a every 3 year update/new release. Who needs EA ?:wave

Yup yup, that's actually one of the biggest reasons why I'm excited for Big Ant Cricket. Looking through CA and the stats aspect was amazing. I'm stoked for that reason. I just meant to state that EA had incorporated it pretty well in the past.

I'd rather prefer EA not getting into it. It's got licences & stuff alright. But, cricket is a niche market with insufficient space for 3 titles at a time (even 2 titles seem too much for it, hence the advantage of releasing first). EA's got name & reputation and even if they were to provide just a patched C07 there'd be more takers for it than for a game by say Trickstar or BigAnt Studios. It's nice that we've someone in Ross, who treats this title as his personal pet project, something close to his heart.
Two small companies, fighting it out for a better cricket title, putting all their lives into it, its all going very much as we'd want. Don't want EA to get in spoil the stuff by snatching consumer base away from these ppl, owing to their mere name and not the game.

We got a long way down the road with EA but they just couldn't do it as they won't even distribute finished games that are not going to sell 1.5million units.

EA will never make a cricket game.

ProTip: Anyone talking about EA making Cricket games has no idea what they're talking about and are basing their opinion on a hacked, patched illegally-sourced EA Game from 100 years ago which was absolute rubbish when it came out and only made-decent by a few talented folk on PlanetCricket.

Would MUCH rather have a smaller, 'punch-above-their-weight' developer behind a product they believe in than support a huge company who doesn't care. Count me in the corner for the 'little guy'.

See Also; SimCity.

'nuff said.

As I said we are glad you have our back :)

It's companies like these which have a mighty fall. Nokia is a clear example ( only company with no andriod phones)

Ross I like what your trying to do with this game, however just like Chief you like to avoid certain questions

Right answer this

When are you gonna release this damn game,? couldn't careless if you said July next year at least that would be better than leaving everyone hanging on everyday

What percentage of completion is the game at now.?

No bull, just be honest

Just incase you missed this Ross, or shall be say avoided, swerved, blanked
