Post your questions about the game here!

When are you gonna release this damn game,? couldn't careless if you said July next year at least that would be better than leaving everyone hanging on everyday

What percentage of completion is the game at now.?

No bull, just be honest

You my friend not going get an answer to that question. I believe he is waiting for an confirmation date for Ashes.

Well if that is the truth then that is fair enough, just be honest with your customers is not a lot to ask for

DRS is instituted as it should be.

The batsman will know he has edged the ball as the controller vibrates (he will know he could be out on appeal).

The umpire (game) knows what has happened, however like in real cricket LBW is on appeal only.

It's hard to explain but the best analogous game I can think of is tennis where the technology actually makes umpires redundant as the correct call is known, however they still have umpires and a three challenge rule that has added a new dimension to the game and become a big strategic part of tight matches.[/QUOTE]

please stop comparing drs in cricket with 3 challenges in tennis. Umpiring should have been programmed to give 7 out of 10 decision right and for those 3 wrong decisions drs will come into play. In fifa too not every offside is called by linemen refree, not every foul in the box is given penalty, not every harsh tackle is given yellow or red card. Umpiring errors are part of realistic gameplay.

Well AC 13's official release date has been out for a while and was re-confirmed in a press event yesterday. I don't really know any other way 505 Games can "confirm" the game's release date.

Might be in the minority but after all the hype yesterday it still feels like another weekend gone by without much development. :(

Thing is ross still believes it will get delayed and the announcement will come soon. So he is waiting for that...or that game will end up getting released on 21st. You wouldn't hear about BAC release date until one of those 2 scenarios happens.

3 in 10 decisions being wrong would be very unrealistic. The ICC review of the technology found that regular umpiring accuracy is around 92% and DRS only improves that to about 97%.

Sure challenging a wrong decision makes for a fun game mechanic, but I'd certainly prefer that the game doesn't way underrate the ability for umpires to be correct. If you're using it all the time it takes away from the game changing moments that it can bring when it's absolutely crucial you both don't waste it and you use it when the time comes. If there's too many wrong decisions, you'll be flippant about its use.

The problem with umpiring in previous games was not that the calls were wrong as such, just that terrible animations meant when you're watching the replay you don't see what the game is seeing.

Of course the 'being a game' factor is still interesting - the cases of the decision being wrong despite the referral would be controller throwing moments in a game. I'd certainly like the game to always be right once you have referred, even if that's unrealistic.

Sound effects will certainly be key to how good the feature is in practice.

Side questions - how do things like appealing and DRS work in the career mode? Does your team appeal outside of you, or not join you when you're bowling? What circumstances can you decide to waste a referral?

My ratio may be wrong, but the thing is human error should be there so use of drs is justified. In big ant cricket i think drs will be used for fun only as umpire will never overule his decision.

I know I have made assumptions before on the release date of Ba cricket, But until concrete date is set for Ashes cricket I do not think we will hear any date about BA cricket.

However I strongly believe that this game needs to come before ashes to capitalise on the market. But I do not see that happening. I am sure it will release before September but could see it release before ashes.

Now that IPL craze and controversies are coming to an end I hope we will see visuals coming our way. :)

They aren't going to implement DRS only to have it never matter.

Computers do math - which means they can accurately calculate the exact physics of the delivery to know if it is a wicket or not - so the game always knows the 'right' decision (see my previous comments about animations) - but on top of that they would have factored in borderline decisions that would be not given out, or some that would be falsely given out; perhaps with the occasional obviously wrong decision.

There have been games in the past with deliberately wrong decisions - the BLIC series used them to show off their licensed Hawk-eye - but with no review system you were like a team playing India, the technology's all there but you can't use it.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't jump to the conclusion that umpires wouldn't overrule their decisions, the whole point of the feature is so that they do.

Side point - was always disappointed in older games that they always just had red/green lights for the third umpire - never the white one.

Yeah, ross needs to confirm this if umpires will change their decision if drs contradicts their decision.

its two different games!! i really dont see the point in all this
