Post your questions about the game here!

Then you're just making stuff up - that's not how you make an argument.

I was always talking about how EA generally is, not any title specifically.

I don't know what you're expecting. Other than showing the game (soon?) - how would you expect them to give detail on game mechanics/gameplay beyond what is already out there?

They can say 'realism', '360 degree shots', 'line and length bowling', 'dynamic pitch' etc. all day - so can Ross - but all games claim they are the most realistic simulation of cricket yet and at the end of the day just about everything is for you to get the game.

You'll have all the screenshots and info you like after it's out - you can't marketing fluff over user reviews.

I expect 505 to be user friendly. So far, for me 505 is like a stranger who wants to offer a game but shows only to selected people and doesn't allow any visual medium to bring that out to fans.

I might have seemed a little naive but seriously I don't mean to be. But you do believe that less than a month and still no visuals is kind of weird right? I mean, you could have hundreds of excuses but they did say you could pre-order, but not everyone pre-orders watching just burning stuff.

To be honest, those mentions about live pitch and outfield behaviour really got me excited however disappointed about its arcade style. I am just bemused about how 505 has conducted itself in reaching out to the public, to make them feel its for them who they are making the game for. And my references are simply drawn from watching other games promoted, even small ones.

In that way I'm really bemused again as to how Ross and Big Ant have worked on the game, more specifically CA. Not just that, also how they have worked 'with' us and brought out a better version of CA in a matter of weeks. And all this just adds to the pain of watching how 505 works. Maybe I and many of us would have hardly complained if we never met Ross and Big Ant.

Maybe 505 are really good. But BA seems extraordinarily cooperative and caring that it puts 505 in the back light. But it doesn't seem good anyway.
Cheers.

When you're talking about two games and you mention another company that made cricket games, it's not a leap to suggest you might want to consider what they did with cricket games before talking about them in this context. Otherwise it's no different to those constant annoying comparisons with GTA.

But you do believe that less than a month and still no visuals is kind of weird right?
Yes, I don't understand it for a moment. But your arguments all seem to boil down to the lack of screenshots, while acting like there's a massive gulf in what is being said about the game mechanics.

Sure, Big Ant have the amazing Cricket Academy out - which certainly skews things with the amount of access we've got to the game - but you're acting like there's a wall of silence with 505, which is just not the case. You just simply are comparing Ross as someone who is the CEO of a company with a self funded title against someone with the limitations of licensing and publishing arrangements.

Maybe I and many of us would have hardly complained if we never met Ross and Big Ant.
Something I can agree with. Ross has no doubt raised the bar - but both games are promising very different mechanics for bowling, so I'm anxious about how they will turn out.

Maybe it might change after I see it, but at the moment I'd still be wishing for a fallback with a pitch marker - I was terrible playing IC2010 with the HUD off.

Place the camera at any player, rewind, forward, super slow mo, amongst other things.

Catch-me-up question, but does that mean there's a stump-camera option and/or with that cool fish-eye effect that they have?

There is a first person view camera.....would be awesome to use that camera on any player and watching the replay :D

Ross you said in another thread (which is now locked) that you will know that you are out and umpires will always give correct decisions. so will drs only be replays? :(

The replay camera can be moved to any player, umpire, stumps and a few other locations. The stumps have a wider field of view (FOV) as it does on the telly :)

DRS is instituted as it should be.

The batsman will know he has edged the ball as the controller vibrates (he will know he could be out on appeal).

The umpire (game) knows what has happened, however like in real cricket LBW is on appeal only.

It's hard to explain but the best analogous game I can think of is tennis where the technology actually makes umpires redundant as the correct call is known, however they still have umpires and a three challenge rule that has added a new dimension to the game and become a big strategic part of tight matches.

oh that clears out things a bit. So the bowlers won't know whether the batsman has nicked it or not? And can the umpires give wrong decisions on LBW?

@Big Ant Studios: Will we hear a faint noise caused by the edge ...obviously not possible when the crowd sound is more.....How can we then guess??

Ross I like what your trying to do with this game, however just like Chief you like to avoid certain questions

Now I like to speak the truth and hate bull$h1t so let's cut to the chase, I'm not someone who is gonna brown nose you and say how your doing a great job and what not, if you didn't think you would make money from it you wouldn't be making it, simple as,

Right answer this

When are you gonna release this damn game,? couldn't careless if you said July next year at least that would be better than leaving everyone hanging on everyday

What percentage of completion is the game at now.?

No bull, just be honest

I am asking when the opposite side batsman nicks will there be a sound of a faint edge....

IIRC Ross mentioned some time back there would be cues in the game, e.g., slight noise off the edge or something commentators say. But you won't be 100% certain whether to go for it or save the challenge for later, which IMO is how it should be. If the cues work all the time then DRS wouldn't be as much fun and I would love to get burned by making an incorrect challenge.
