Yes.. Your past match performance in a tour will definitely affect your confidence and affect ur gameplay. you will be given a few chance to prove ur value in the team. still if u wont do good then u will be out of the side and need to crawl back in by playing some domestic tournaments. BTW, you will get offers from county teams to play for them.
