Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

Lol gotta love/laugh at the default team for the master league.

Hey don't knock it, those boys were a massive part of my childhood! So Gas, how do you feel about PES now eh? Are you as moist as me about it?

Indeed, i have started wearing Panty Liners and getting towed around by dogs whilst i wear roller blades.

Lmao, i'll get these scans up asap. What's more is that a few issues ago PSM3 were very pessimistic about the new PES so for them to be as excited as they are speaks volumes. Looks like i'm in for some neglected A level work this year! But who cares? Getting Castolo to stop being so crap is well more important.

Yeah i'm completely not buying this game now. Ronaldo has his shirt tucked in. The horror!

I did say:

I never said it would be something which would decide whether I buy the game or not - it's just another small detail which they have ignored. It would just make the game look slightly more realistic on close-ups and replays.

I watch Huddersfield Town, and they must all be Pob's as they seem to have there shirts tucked in :p

I'm judging nothing until Thursday when I have both demo's. Talking about past titles is pointless, as are trailers. Nothing beats playing the games yourself.

I know, that's why I said "or", not "and" ;).

However, I do think that games need to move with the times and embrace the new technology to be great games - for example, SWOS was the best football game ever at the time it was released, but if you were given the same game on this hardware it would not be acceptable. PES has become like this to me - with it still being a PS1 game at it's core.

The "fans" who will buy PES no matter how terrible it is are the ones ruining it for the rest of us - if Konami had a year of seriously poor sales, they would know people won't just settle for the lack of development and would have to really put some time and effort in to gain back those customers. But with huge groups of people going and spending ?35+ on a game with really old gameplay and very few new features, why would they bother putting effort into improving it?

The game isnt even out and you've condemned it as terrible. At least I'm keeping an open mind and hoping EA arent been lazy and actually making a decent FIFA for PC this year.

Play the demos, yet somehow I think you'll find fault with PES whatever.

EDIT: It's also not next gen, its current gen ;)

I wasn't comdemning PES 09 as awful, it's just my expectation of it based on info, videos etc.

That comment was more aimed at PES 08, that was one of the worst football games made for a long time (since Sven Goran Eriksson World Challenge to be exact), yet it was the best selling PES to date I think, which shows that some people will just accept anything if it's called "PES" and made by Konami.

I may get the demo, but as i'm not buying the game it may not be worth downloading. I may get it just to compare FIFA and PES, and to see if games magically become better than they appear in videos just because you are controlling it .

And yeah, I said "next gen" because some people think you are referring to the PS2 generation when you say "current gen" ;) I was avoiding people thinking that is what I meant, it is about time the PS3/360 generation is referred to as "current" by all :).

We shall see anyway on Thursday. Feel free to flame me happily if PES turns out to be a turkey :)
