Random Country Test Draft -- DONE. Time for comments/discussion

Why? No need to take this draft so seriously. As we said, luck of the draw. There are no prizes for the best XI and The Don won't immediately make your XI the best one anyways.

Don't patronize me. I am echoing the thoughts of hMarka and Cricketman as well.

So I say it to them as well.

The Don is the luck of the draw. Let it be. If we ever did an all-time Australia draft, the first pick would inevitably be him too.

I'm honestly not fussed either way. The Don hasn't been included in previous drafts, so I can see why people wouldn't want him in this one, but I'm not entirely bothered. Upto you guys, as Zorax has said, it's luck of the draw. I don't think having The Don will automatically make your side unquestionably better than everyone elses.

It's no fun. Just imagine if you have guys that all average in the 30s and 40s and have Bradman smack dab in the middle there at 99.94.

I know it's all fun and games but it takes strategy to build a good, competitive team even if luck does not favor you. And i'm saying this for the second time but if Bradman's in there it simply derails that aspect of it.

Put it up to vote. Make a poll Cricketman :p

For Bradman

ZoraxDoom

Against Bradman

Final Verdict: Bradman Out

Bugger it. Forget the poll, I'll make a decision. No Bradman. 3/2 votes in favour of having him taken out of the draft, so there we go, even if Dare votes it'll be 4/3. Bradman is GONE!

Watch me have the first pick in the Australian draft and rue it... :p Jk. I'm happy with it.

Haha, yeah, my luck isn't all that good either. Still a lot of very good number 3s out there, so it's all good.

Darn!
The Don is Gone!
So Long Don!
They Are So Wrong!
For Don, This Song!

I sustain my vote. I wont be bothered if Bradman is left out or drafted.

One of the most physically imposing batsman to ever play the game and one of the best to ever play for England Wally Hammond is my choice. In just 84 tests he scored 7249 runs at an average of 58.45 with 22 centuries and 24 fifties and a high score of 336*. He was an outstanding athlete and for such a large man he possessed great footwork and moved allot quicker then people thought he could. He is also one of those rare batsman that is more dominant away from home averaging 50 in England and 66 away from it so he does opposite of what Mahela did but still he was great at home. He dominated at #3 with an average of 74.78 with 14 centuries at 4 fifties, lucky to have gotten him. He was also more than a capable bowler with 83 test match wickets at 37 and 732 first class wickets at 30.
He was a superb fast-medium bowler who often, as Sir Donald Bradman once remarked, "was too busy scoring runs to worry about bowling."

Sydney Barnes was quite possibly the greatest pace bowler ever. Barnes was a master of disguise. He could swing it miles and outfoxed batsmen by combining spin and swing. Whoever faced him had no answers. He holds the record for the most wickets in a series, taking 49 wickets in a 5 test match series vs South Africa. He only played 4 of the 5 matches! He was the first to take 15 wickets in a test. In just 27 tests, Sydney Barnes took 189 wickets at a quite amazing average of 16.43. He took 2 four-fors and 24 five-fors, taking 10 wickets in a match on 7 occasions at a strike rate of 41.6.
