Rugby Union

yeh it was a bit off.

Channel Seven's whole advert campaign for this International season has been incredibly lame. I didnt find the handbag ad remotely amusing, and i like to think i have a pretty good sense of humour!

what can you do though...some morons get paid bucketloads to think up rubbish like that...you've got to wonder.

Yesterday our teams were named. Good team for mind, great having Giteau back hopefully he sparks up our backline. Only problem is no Blake so our scrum problems are still going to be there.

I read Giteau's got some sort of discomfort in his thumb and that he'll have to undergo a minor operation...how'll that affect him on Saturday?
The Africans have their fair share of injuries at present, so hopefully it'll be a decent contest anyway.

First I've heard of it. Hes just coming back from injury so don't know how on earth he picked up another one.
Rogers just doesn't have that Giteau spark at inside centre, maybe he needs more time but right now not our number 1 choice.

Well, I'm sure I read he's got some sort of a "floating" thumb problem after the initial fracturing and may need to receive treatment, but is still expected to start as normal.

This is disastrous from SA- they haven't been able to hold onto the ball, let alone stay in the Australian half. They've been able to obtain it, but not keep it, and so can't build ANY sort of pressure through phase development- their backline's hardly been in the contest. The Wallabies are completely outclassing them in every department, and that last try orchestrated by Larkham was great work. They'll wanna forget this half...
EDIT: Giteau scores and converts, 30-0; a record's on the card's from here!

Wow, 30-0 at half time. An absolute demolishion (:p). SA just cant get in the game and like James said they backline arent getting enough ball especially in the Wallabies 22! At least 1 bonus should be up for offer here.

But what a game for Australia to be proud of!

I hate rugby and don't watch it, but I saw the incident on some tv program.

The exact reason why I hate rugby, its a dirty game. When our players arn't in bars waving around handbags they are taking a piss on television. That collins is nothing but a thug.

I enjoyed that australian advertisement with the haka with handbags. That was great.

well i dont know why you hate rugby thats the only sport new zealand are good at

SA were pathetically bad. Couldn't hold onto the ball and defence was real weak.
Giteau showed why he is our inside centre, he was awesome gave our backline that much needed spark.
The try by Latham from Tuqiri was awesome, looked so cool live when Tuqiri appeared flicked the pass to Latham on the ground, looked like a bicycle kick.

Scrum performed slightly better, Fava was more cleaner with his pick ups and our rolling more wow, we are the new SA in that department.

Wow, we smashed 4 records!

Biggest win (32-6 before), most tries against boks (6 - previous 5), most conversions against box (5 - previous was only 3!) and SA worst Tri Nations lost (previous 45). And that surprisng fact that we have lost our last 5 tri-nations game before this game!

Was a great game for us Aussies though! Especially gaining that extra bonus point. Can I also say, Mortlocks boot was near perfect too. :p

To add to that, it was the first time in the last 61 tests that the Wallabies have been able to keep SA scoreless! Not really a 'record' as such, but it's still definitely something to be proud of.

SA were never going to score on that night. It was like the ball had extra soap on it. But don't expect SA to do the same against the ABs, they will be fired up. Hopefully that will make it into a good game. Forward packs are quite close but backs the ABs are streets ahead.

Talk about cockyness, resting 8 players against the Boks.

NEW ZEALAND: Leon MacDonald; Doug Howlett, Mils Muliaina, Sam Tuitupou, Scott Hamilton; Daniel Carter, Piri Weepu; Rodney So'oialo, Richie McCaw (captain), Reuben Thorne; Ali Williams, Chris Jack; Carl Hayman, Anton Oliver, Neemia Tialata. Replacements: Andrew Hore, Greg Somerville, Greg Rawlinson, Chris Masoe, Jimmy Cowan, Luke McAlister, Isaia Toeava.

In other news we're back up to Number 3 in the world straight swapping with SA.

yeah it is cocky, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters to Henry and the team is winning the World Cup. And i'm gonna have to agree with him on that one.

Incredible win by Aust. A over Fiji! 80-9!!! Mitchell crossing over for 3 tries and look like they dominated the whole game.

In other news, NZ has won. No big surprise :p
