Rugby Union

Good to see we have good depth in the backs. Now if only the same could be said about our forwards :)

SA played much better this week but gave away too many penalties. NZ scrum showed how great they are by putting huge pressure on SA scrum.

I hear Channel Ten are tipped to gain the WC 07 telecasting rights, which will apparently pave the way for partial FTA Super 14 coverage! :)
By the way, whatever happened to "go you good thing"...?
Anyway, a far better South African effort, but, once again, the AB's are superior to everyone on the rugby map, and their forward play, I read, was top notch last night.

Go you good thing should be with the Ch 7 commentary but I haven't been getting broadcast from them, rather the Aussie ones. We may even get the Sky Sports guys commentating.

Our team has been named, great to see Rodzilla back. He should improve the scrum.

AUSTRALIA: Chris Latham; Mark Gerrard, Stirling Mortlock, Matt Giteau, Lote Tuqiri; Stephen Larkham, George Gregan (captain); Scott Fava, George Smith, Rocky Elsom; Dan Vickerman, Nathan Sharpe; Rodney Blake, Jeremy Paul, Greg Holmes. Replacements: Tai McIsaac, Al Baxter, Guy Shepherdson, Mark Chisholm, Phil Waugh, Wycliff Palu, Sam Cordingley, Mat Rogers, Clyde Rathbone.

Forgetting Holmes, are we? ;) He's a gun!

Chris Handy was his name, just remembered. Nah, I can't remember him doing anything with Seven this year...

Holmes is a ball running forward :) No Carl Haymen however :)

As confirmed by that lovely try of his in Perth last month :)
Hayman's one of the best in the business, and Holmes is still learning his trade, so you never know!

you both spelt it wrong...it's Carl Heyman ;)

Check the team listings or how about a google :)

Good old Johnson is at it again.

What is Ch 7 doing. Delayed coverage for Melbourne and Adelaide which is after midnight! Don't know about Perth and co, Sydney and Brisbane should get it live. That's quite shocking, thank God for you guys that foxsports are showing it live everywhere.

So, I hear John Connolly's not too impressed about the throat slitting addition to the opening haka, saying it "incites violence"...

That's a disgrace- surely it isn't AFL that's co-inciding with the live union coverage?

Probably would explain it, but if anything was to topple the AFL it would be the Wallabies at home against the All Blacks.

Whoa, that whole haka dispute really escalated, didn't it? I don't really have a problem with it, as it's clearly part of the Maori culture....or is it? :p
Graham Henry lashed out at Connolly, accusing him of bringing it up merely to unsettle the NZ camp prior to the crucial clash, which is probably true; they first performed it three weeks ago, and the issue's raised now? Anyway...'tis starting now :)
