Rugby Union

Not a bad effort by the Wallabies. Larkham was rusty and it effected the flow of the backline for most of the game. We really just need one long ball from Larkham to the winger and we would have scored as the English defence was rushing up that quickly and for some reason creating overlaps for our backs.
In saying that English defence was good and in our face.

England on attack never really threatened and what a tackle by Gregan another Jeff Wilson moment :) Vandell played well, side stepped Tuqiri and burned away down the sideline but some of his decision making was poor.

Our backs were mainly quiet Mortlock didn't feature as much, Rogers hogged the ball too much. Gerrard showed his power, Latham had a great game busting tackles and Tuqiri had a few good touches. Our scrum looked alright, lineouts were good and Elsom was brillant. Hennan well I bearly saw him seemed to go MIA.

I seem to recall a public outcry, after the WC of 2003, about the worth of penalties and drop goals after Wilkinson's heroics... (that comment would've been ALOT more effective had Australia not scored like three times towards the close of last night! :p)
There was some solid Australian defence in my opinion, but then again, the English attacking game was poor. The backline was reasonable, yet quietened by the slippery ball.
Vandell showed some skill, but as you said, chose some wrong options and his support didn't pick up the pieces.

Yeah, Elsom was class- he always looked dangerous with or without possession. The scrum's have improved alot- helped by the emphasis the new coach places on them- driven by some determination evident in the early stages.
I'm not a fan of the referee radio technology being audible to the viewers- what happens on the field, should stay on the field ;)

Union suits the higher valve on penalties and drop goals. It's just what I'm use to. Test match footy is always about taken your chances (penalties) rather than looking to score tries like you do in Super 14. League is more suited to tries hence the lower importance of penalties and drop goals.

England did look threatening when they were chipping the ball over the heads of the Wallabies, that was as close as they got to scoring if not for that man Gregan producing a ripper. Don't know where that went in the second half cause all they did was cut back, cut back and cut back. Wallabies just smashed them backwards.

Yeah, I've got nothing against it, but it would've been a final irony if Australia won, what they anticipated as the 'World Cup re-match', with penalty goals after everyone over here had a cry about England's success with points that weren't a result of tries.

You know us Aussies, we're find excuse from anywhere. Not as good as the English soccer team's dry throat excuse though ;) It was just plain boring to watch the English during their rein although they aren't much better now and they are hardly scoring points these days.

They always call it the WC rematch at that ground but Aus already avenged the loss in 04 :p

Our 2nd test team not bad at all. I expected more changes bit it's just the minimum with one forced change bringing Chisholm in. I like the idea of him at flanker hes got the power and height to be a good one.

Chris Latham, Mark Gerrard, Stirling Mortlock (c), Mat Rogers, Lote Tuqiri, Stephen Larkham, Sam Cordingley, Rocky Elsom, George Smith, Mark Chisholm, Dan Vickerman (vc), Nathan Sharpe, Rodney Blake, Adam Freier, Greg Holmes. Reserves: Jeremy Paul, Al Baxter, Wycliff Palu, Phil Waugh, Josh Valentine, Cameron Shepherd, Clyde Rathbone.

And then it's one way traffic :)
Simply brillant performance by the Aussies, backline started to flow a lot better and those kicks early on were perfect. Lineout was major worry don't know how we went so bad there. Our first scrum always seems to be a problem, don't know why when it is better than last years one.

Gerrard was simply brillant, Latham was as his attacking best and Tuqiri owned Vandell.

That was so boring, nothing in that at all. Australia just blasted through there defence everytime.

I don't care if Australia lose as long as we get some sort of a show besides a one-way game.

Dude when your team loses 9 games in a row you take any victory you can. It's great to see our team blowing the English in the forwards and then unleashing the backs.

Also our Under 21 are going really well. I hear their scrum is good and they beat the Junior All Blacks :) I may get up to watch our semi against France.

England :rtfl
Anyway i think the aussies will be in for a tough time against the Irish, but i still think the aussies will win it coz i don't see the Irish getting up again after running the All Blacks close 2 weeks in a row.
