Mate, what happened to the scoreboard. It shows the Australian bowlers bowling out the South African batsmen, but underneath in the bowling scoreboard, it has the right English bowlers.

Other then that mate, a wonderful update no doubt. Smith played very very well to get his team over the line

England were well and truly outclassed there. South Africa really did show why they are such a threat to the likes of Australia.

Great works, especially your graphics :thumbs

Ravi Shashtri: Hello and Welcome to the Presentation ceremony for this second match of the Commonwealth Bank Quadrangular Series 2009 between South Africa and England where the South Africans completely dominated the game and won it with 7 wickets in hands. First I would like to call Kevin Pietersen to come up and have some words with us.

2lm3xpe.jpg

Ravi Shastri: Well KP, tough luck today! But today's performance was surely not what you expected. Isn't it?

Kevin Pietersen: Yes, we played poorly today. We started of poorly losing 2 quick wickets for just 5 runs and from there on we never improved. We kept losing wickets at regular intervals and then we even failed to reach the 150s. With less than 130 runs to win, bowler had no chance of winning us the game.

Ravi Shastri: But the conditions were very good for batting, so what went wrong?

Kevin Pietersen: Yeah, the conditions were brilliant for batting but our batsmen fail to make good use of the conditions and the South Africans bowled very well sticking a good line and length. They completely outplayed us in all departments of the game.

Ravi Shastri: Thanks KP, and good luck for the next match.

Kevin Pietersen: Cheers mate.

Ravi Shastri: Now, I would like to call upon stage the winning South African captain Graeme Smith, who is also today's' Man of the Match scoring a well deserved half century.

30sjats.jpg

Ravi Shastri: Well, Graeme congratulations for the Man of the Match award. It was a terrific performance by your team! What do you think of the today's win?

Graeme Smith: Thanks...yes, it was a brilliant performance by the boys and it was a total team effort. We bowled really well on a really good batting surface. Our bowlers bowled a brilliant line and length which made their batsman struggle and also we picked up wickets at regular intervals. Restricting them for 130 was brilliant and then our batsman fired and made the real good use of the batting conditions.

Ravi Shastri: Did the conditions changed a lot while batting second?

Graeme Smith: No, not at all. It was still a good batting wicket. The ball was coming nicely onto the bat and the scoring was quite easy. It was just our bowlers bowled brilliantly and took the advantages of the swing and bounce they during the first ten overs.

Ravi Shastri: Thanks Graeme and good luck for the next match.

Graeme Smith: Thanks mate.

Ravi Shastri: So that concludes our presentation ceremony from Sydney.

Good presentation but why do you always play a bit of a series and then skip most of the rest?
I guess it can get boring playing a whole series but surely you could cover the final??
Anyway, is this the end of the story or will you progress to another series?

The ICC World Twenty20 2009 will be the second time a world event for Twenty20 cricket has been held. The event, which feature 12 teams in the men's tournament and eight teams in the women's competition, will be staged in June 2009 at Lord's, The Oval, Trent Bridge and Taunton. The inaugural ICC World Twenty20 competition took place in South Africa in September 2007. The competition, which lasted for just two weeks, was a thrilling event which culminated in India's dramatic five run defeat of Pakistan at Johannesburg. There were many memorable matches, not least the tie between India-Pakistan in Durban in the group stages which saw the first bowl out at an ICC World Twenty20 event, Bangladesh's victory over the West Indies and Zimbabwe's shock defeat of Australia at Cape Town. The previous tournament also had some individual brilliance like Yuvraj Singh's 6 sixes in an over against England in Durban, Brett Lee's hatrick against Bangladesh and Chris Gayle's brilliant century on the opening day of the tournament.

After a successful Indian Premier League in South Africa its time for the Indian players to regroup and play together for their country. Indian selectors have not opted for huge changes in the squad, just two changes in the squad which won the One Dayers in New Zealand. Sachin Tendulkar as expected has been given a break and is replaced by his Ranji teammate Abhishek Nayar who was very useful with the bat as well as the ball for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Munaf Patel who had a good tour of New Zealand has been dropped for RP Singh who had an excellent IPL and ended picking up the most wickets in the tournament.

Virender Sehwag (vc)
Gautam Gambhir
Yuvraj Singh
Suresh Raina
Yusuf Pathan
Rohit Sharama

Ishant Sharma
Harbhajan Singh

Pragyan Ojha
Ravindra Jadeja
Abhishek Nayar
RP Singh

Player to Watch: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been in very good form recently in the Indian Premier League scoring some invaluable runs for the Deccan Chargers in the middle order. He also has the ability to hit the ball hard and score very quick runs. His slow off spinners can also be useful to remove pace of the ball and slow down the run rate if required.

Australian selectors have decided to go with a very strong and experience Australian squad. Ricky Ponting, Shaun Marsh, David Warner, Michael Hussey and Mitchell Johnson have been recalled to the side along with Brett Lee who is set to return from a lengthy injury. Stuart Clark, Peter Siddle, Doug Bollinger, Ben Laughlin, Brett Geeves and Marcus North miss the chance to play in the T20 World Cup in England.

Mitchell Johnson has been one of the key performers for Australia in the last one year or so. Johnson had a very good tour of Australia where he dominated with the bat and ball. Johnson will get good pace and swing from the pitches in England and will help him trouble the batsman. His ability score some very important runs for his team in the lower order will help the Aussies a lot.

Pakistan selectors have decided to go with the same squad which lost 3-2 in ODI series against Australia in Dubai. The squad has a good mixture youth and experience led by an experience skipper in Younus Khan. Shoaib Akthar is set to play his first Twenty20 World Cup as he missed the last one due to the dressing room spat with Mohd Asif. This would be a great opportunity for the 17-year-old, Ahmed Shehzad to prove his talent.

Leading wicket taker of the first edition of the Indian Premier League Sohail Tanvir will be surely Pakistan's key weapon in the upcoming T20 World Cup. His wrong-footed action, however, caused batsmen a lot of problems and was the surprised package of the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa. He also has the ability to hit the ball hard and can score some very important runs in quick time down the order.

England announce their squad

england.gif

The host nation England who play the first match of the tournament against Netherlands at Loards have announced their 16-man squad for the championship. The selectors have decided to go with some experience and some Twenty20 specialist. Kevin Pietersen has been given the captaincy of the team as Andrew Strauss is not included in the squad. Twenty20 specialist like Rob Key, Graham Napier, Joe Denly, Dimitri Mascarenhas have been included in the squad. Adil Rashid and Kabir Ali have also been given a chance due to their good current form. James Foster will make his comeback for England after almost 5-6 years. Overall its a good balance side and England would be hoping their big guns Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood and Andrew Flintoff to fire as their were the flops in the recent Indian Premier League.

Ian Bell

Player To Watch: Graham Napier-

v4808k.jpg

Napier being a product of the Essex youth system has made his mark in county cricket as an allrounder of great ability, particularly in the one-day game, where his hard-hitting batting was complemented by a nifty line in seam bowling, which can prove frustratingly hard to dispatch in the closing overs of a match.
