Hmmm England are struggling tbh. I really like England, but it's nice to see a 'minnow' doing alright.

I bet Ryan ten Doeschate does alright with the bat, too. He's class :)

very nice presentation mate. go the dutch! englands class should see them get home in the end though. pieterson should be the key

Never thought that England would be in such a trouble.. Poor start by them certainly! Lets see.. who knows.. 1 over of 20+ runs would turn the game :p

Nice presentation :clap

Beautiful presentation mate. But it's sad seeing the Poms doing so poorly in this contest so far.

Mascarenhas cameo helps England reach 146

Just seven overs left and England were struggling at 87 for 5, but they still had their skipper Kevin Pietersen looking in great touch along with the huge hitter from Essex, Graham Napier in the middle. Tim de Grooth continued and again he bowled a tidy over conceding just seven runs of the over. The pressure was increasing on the host. Ryan ten Doeschate was brought back in the attack and the Essex allrounder got the main wicket of Kevin Pietersen in his third ball of his second spell. KP went for the huge hit over covers but didn't get the distance and gave an easy catch de Grooth at boundary line. Kevin Pietersen departed for 28 of 22 balls and was replaced by Essex keeper James Foster.

The two Essex team mates James Foster and Graham Napier kept the scoreboard ticking with the ones and twos. The running between the wickets was outstanding. Foster scored his first boundary as he swept Tim de Grooth four four and soon in the next over he smashed Ryan ten Doeschate for another boundary over the point fielder. As Foster was looking dangerous Doeschate got the better of his Essex team mate. Doeschate bowled a slower delivery and Foster went for the sweep but he completely missed the ball. The ball hit his pads and went on to the stumps. Foster departed for just 14 runs of 9 balls and was replaced by Dimitri Mascarenhas in the middle. He straightaway got of the mark with a single towards fine leg and retained the strike with that. Mascarenhas also scored his first boundary as he played a delicate leg glance which beat the fine leg fielder all the way for four.

Two balls later England lost their 8th wicket in the form of Graham Napier. Napier who was timing the ball well from the middle of the bat, gave a very easy catch to covers. Napier made the long back to the pavilion with just 10 runs in front of his name in 12 balls. Stuart Broad came in the middle and he got of the mark straightaway with a couple towards long off. England were in trouble as they were just 128 for the loss of 8 wickets with just one over left. Jerom Smits turned towards Dirk Nannes to bowl the last over of the match with Stuart Broad on the strike. Dirk Nannes again made the worst possible start as his first ball went for four wides down the leg side.

Stuart Broad did the smart thing as he gave Dimi Mascarenhas the strike with an easy single towards long on. Nannes came back brilliant and bowled a dot ball, as Mascarenhas completely missed the slog over mid wicket. But the next ball resulted in a boundary as Mascarenhas played the late cut which beat the third man fielder inside the circle and went away for four and this was followed by another boundary but this time between long off and extra cover for four. Nannes had gone already for 14 in his 4 balls and his last two balls resulted four more runs as Mascarenhas took two runs twice in the same midwicket region.

The Mascarenhas cameo towards the end of the innings helped England post a respectable total of 147 runs. The England batting completely failed today with just Bopara, Pietersen and Mascarenhas scoring over 20 runs while the others had completely failed to get after the bowling. The bowling by the Dutch has been brilliant, led by the spinner Tim de Grooth who went for 6 runs per over and took 2 wickets and was supported well by Ryan ten Doeschate. Netherlands need 147 runs in 20 overs at 7.35 runs per over.

Fantastic looking scoreboards mate. How do you do them, they are the best i have ever seen on this cricket forum.

Wonderful story and good to see it still going strong. kiu

yh i echo what everyone i saying absolutely superb presenation and i think England have a gd score there and it should certainly be enough to end any hopes of a Netherlands win with the quality bowling attack the English have.

England put Pressure on the Dutch after early Wicket

England needed to bowl very well if they had to defend 146 against a good looking Netherlands side. Kevin Pietersen as expected gave the ball to James Anderson. For the Dutch it was Alexei Kervezee who faced the first ball. Anderson started bowling a good line and length but it took only 4 balls for Kervezee to hit hist first boundary of the game. Anderson pitched it shot and wide of off stump and Kervezee smashed it over point for four. Stuart Broad shared the new ball along with James Anderson and he got of to a worst start as his first ball went for four wides down the leg side. Not the start that England needed surely. Kervezee and his strike partner Bukhari played some sensible cricket by not taking any risk and just rotating the strike. First six of the innings came shortly after as Kervezee smashed Stuart Broad over covers.

But Kervezee went for one shot to many and gave an easy catch next ball to Kevin Pietersen at mid on when he tried to smash Broad on the on side. Kervezee had to depart for just 15 runs in 16 balls and the Dutch were 22 for the loss of one wicket when new batsman Eric Szwarczynski came in the middle. The wicket looked like had installed some new energy in the bowlers as they started to bowl in the right areas and trouble the two new batsman. Mascarenhas was bought in the attack and he bowled a brilliant first over conceding just 3 singles of it. Flintoff was also given the ball and as usual he was on target with his yorkers but was unable to stop the singles. Pressure was rising on the Netherlands as the required run rate was over 8 runs per over. Mascarenhas again bowled the right line and length in his second over, conceding just a boundary over covers, hit by Bukhari.

So, after the end of the first 7 overs Netherlands are 38 for the loss of one wicket. England bowlers have come back brilliantly after Kervezee decided to attack them early in the match. England bowlers have done a very good job, especially Mascarenhas who has brilliant. Netherlands still need 109 runs in 13 overs at 8.34 runs per over with 9 wickets in hands.

Netherlands: 38/1 (7 overs)
M.Bukhari 8(11)
E.Szwarczynski 8(15)
Extras 7

Last Wickets:
A.Kervezee c Pietersen b Broad 15(16)

J.Anderson 2-0-13-0
S.Broad 2-0-13-1
D.Mascarenhas 2-0-7-0
A.Flintoff 1-0-5-0

Far to slow from the dutch. This match should be in the bag for England! Great presentation mate! Wonderful story

great presentation as usual mate. Hard to see the Netherlands hitting back here. Never thought a score of 160 odd would win a match :p

good start for England and you would expect the quality of the bowlers to give them in the end quite a tidy victory. Great work as always mate.

Great stuff mate..Looking forward to it...Great scorecards aswell how did you make them

The job for the inexperienced team is becoming tougher now.. But still one or two good overs can turn the game anyside.

Brilliant stuff.. :hpraise

Netherlands have gone way too slow but have many wickets in hand, so a late surge could still elapse. Mascarenhous was very economical, as were most of the bowlers, to be honest.

Good presentation, Shan.
