Easy to say axe boucher but the fact is there is no real replacement. Kuhn's keeping isn't up to standard,smit isn't a good enough batsman and same goes for tsolekile. Van wyk is too old and Quinto De Kock isn't ready(will be in 2/3 years).

The opener spot is an issue. They have tried both peterson and rudolph and neither have really come up with the goods. They could still try Elgar. The middle order spot is less of a worry lots of young players making runs in domestic level, its just about the selectors picking the right one.

When Peterson first came onto the scene I thought he would be a mainstay for the SA team as he just kept on scoring runs in both ODI and Test. Obviously fell away but nice to see him back in.

With Philander fit and playing tomorrow, it would have been nice if De Lange also played instead of warming the benches. Probably Tahir would have been the man making his way out of the 11. The only problem with this ( 4 pace attack ) would have been the over-rate but sincerely I feel a 4 pace attack would have been BEST at Newlands.

Don't think so. Attack would be too one dimensional. Newlands over new years also tends to help spinner, if harris can take 5 there twice then you know it offers something...

What was dilshan thinking at the toss bowling first with the sun out at newlands?? May have lost smith and amla but 135/2 is great. Both kallis and pietersen seems in great form. Smith and amla will be kicking themselves for getting out as well, both looked good. Seems very flat.

Dilshan's decision was pure madness but it has gone from bad to worse. AB is looking solid and unless the Lankan bowlers can do some thing different he'll get a century too.
