Sri Lanka tour of India

Feel like SL have come with an mindset of attacking the ball if it's there to be hit. Makes sense to be honest. Beats waiting for the ball that takes you out.

Are we playing outside India?

The track is getting better to bat as the match is progressing.

Mind ya, SL might end up scoring 300+ if they go on to play like thia.

Ah, I'm here for the rescue!

Tbh the pace of the pitch has dropped down which is making it easy for the batsman to adjust their shots. On this surface flighting the ball can be risky as it would give additional time for the batsman to play their strokes. Bowling flatter trajectory at some pace is going to trouble the batsman.

The pitch hasn't got easier to bat but the pace has dropped.

A 100 runs more with a the loss of a single wicket maybe and India might start to worry :D

:clap:clap:clap You made my & @Bigby Wolf 's work easy. IYKWIM!

That was a great knock from the skipper. Good to see somebody had the fight in them for this timid Lankans. I to be honest expected a better fight from them this series but unfortunately the gap is just too wide. After seeing how the WTC has been conducted, how the Pandemic forced to make changes in terms of how the top 2 are decided, I feel WTC can be shelved for a better idea.

I am all in for Promotion and Relegation system. 2 Groups of 6.

Group A

Australia
India
New Zealand
England
South Africa
Pakistan

Group B
Sri Lanka
West Indies
Bangladesh
Zimbabwe
Afghanistan
Ireland

Each team plays other team in the group Home and Away for a 3 match series and plays 2 teams from other group away for a 3 match series. Every team of Group B will have two series against one of the teams in Group A. Each team would play a total of 42 matches and this can be done in a 3 year cycle. This would mean each team plays 14 test matches roughly or almost 4 series a year.

So Rohit Sharma gets another great start to his captaincy career, this time in the longest format.:D

Would be better if we don't decide on the minimum/maximum number of matches a team plays. That would suit the Cricket boards in a better way.

While it would suit the cricket boards, it would not suit the game. Every team has to consistently make sure they play other teams atleast 1 time in a 4-5 year cycle. India should be playing Zimbabwe, Ireland, Afghanistan for atleast one 3 match test series. This is how NFL works here in the USA. 32 teams are divided in 8 groups and while they play round robin against the team in their group, they have to make sure they play other group teams atleast once in a 4 year cycle.

Maximum and minimum matches will give the team a clear idea on workload and we all know how important it is in post-pandemic world. It will also consistently give financial stability and exposure to Ireland, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

But the problem is actually about hosting. You see why Ireland have not hosted enough games in the last 2 cycles. They need private companies to invest hefty amount to be able to successfully host Test Cricket. Lack of facilities and stadium capacity is a different issue.
