Every time you look at this thread Nick Browne is there. It's like when I'm batting as Essex...

After 10 matches here are some fancy Nick Browne related stats. He's batted over a 1000 balls more than his closest competitor and basically double everyone from Hameed downwards...

Sorry, I haven’t got any screenshots but just got into playing the game after a bit of a break and boy I love it!

Played a Test as my own completely created England (Modest team rating of 59) against Zimbabwe (Rated 60 odd I think) on Hardest. They were 201-9 but got 280. I was 106-1 then had Malan run out. Scratched to 226 with Sibley, Malan and Stokes al scoring 52/53. Bowled them out for 165 as the ball swung all over the place on a lush green deck. Was 48-1 chasing about 220 but was all out for 187. Lost by 32.

I enjoy the reality/frustration of fielding for 160 overs (As the second test is going!) but the genuine thrill of edges, catches, bowled and any method of dismissal on this game is so rewarding. As is scoring runs when it is at times challenging.

Hope everybody else enjoys, however they play it, as much as me.

Haven’t been on here in a while, but I have been playing the game, quite a lot to be honest! Around November/December time last year nostalgia hit and I really wanted to play as England throughout the 2008-2010 period, to point I bought an Xbox 360 and cricket 2010. This didn’t work, the game was still no good, so instead I set about creating my own teams, )inc each player having the right equipment) made up of some of my own creations but largely the great stuff available to download from the academy. About 8 months on and this is my progress so far, FYI I am trying to keep things/schedules as real as possible, for example, dropping Vaughan even though he scored a ton a couple of tests before……

Test Matches:
South Africa - 3 match series, lost 0-2 (2008)
New Zealand - 2 match series, drew 1-1 (2008)
India - 2 match series, won 0-2 (2008)
West Indies - 3 match series, won 0-3 (2009)
West Indies - 2 match series, won 2-0 (2009)
Currently playing the 2009 Ashes, so of course, 5 match series against the Aussies. The DLC with Sophia Gardens came just at the right time for the first test

ODIs:
South Africa - 3 match series, lost 0-3 (2008)
New Zealand - 3 match series, won 2-1 (2008)
India - 5 match series, won 0-5 (2008)
West Indies - 3 match series, won 0-3 (2009)

T20s:
South Africa - 1 off match, lost 0-1 (2008)
New Zealand - 2 match series, won 2-0 (2008)
Australia - 3 match series, won 3-0 (2008) (series never happened but fancied it)
West Indies - 2 match series, drew 1-1 (2009)
West Indies - 3 match series, lost 1-2 (2009)

World T20 2009:
Went a bit OCD with this, I wanted two groups of 5 so I got to play a few matches (it’s not my strongest format) but the game doesn’t offer this, soooo…… I done my own draw and played them as ‘Play Now’ games and yes, for every single match. I only played mine of course, but I watched/simulated all the others, took me about a week. I done two groups of 5, play each other once, then a Super 8s, play the teams you hadn’t already, then the semis and the final. The plan was to do this even if I got knocked out, but somehow, I won it, I think I scored over 150 like twice, so I owe it to my bowling.
Total matches played/watched/simulated throughout the tournament….. 39 and I know what you’re thinking and the answer would be yes, I have the stats of all the teams/players who took part……

The aim is to play the Ashes down under in 2010 then I’ll see if I fancy carrying on, but for now, these are the teams I created, along with some of my best pictures enjoy….

England (all formats)
Australia (all formats)
Bangladesh (T20)
India (all formats)
Netherlands (T20)
New Zealand (all formats)
Pakistan (T20)
South Africa (all formats)
Sri Lanka (T20)
West Indies (all formats)

Stats are all correct as of the time as well, so it doesn’t show that Ponting has scored 13300 odd runs, instead he’s yet to reach 11,000, like when the 2009 Ashes started.

I said it had been a while, so had a lot to catch up on, so hopefully I haven’t bored anyone to death with the length of this and finally of course, thanks again to all the creators who make the game so much better. Like I said, I try and create some things, but a lot is downloaded and then adapted or just downloaded and used straight away. Whether it be play faces or logos, those true creators out there are a very much appreciated.

Felt so satisfying to give back what AI always does in the end. 9th wkt partnership for 83 runs.. That too saving the match felt really good to pull off something like this, with that 273 is the target lets see what I can do with that in the remaining 1 and a half days.20210722204426_1.jpg

Hello everyone - first post in an incredibly long time for a variety of reasons - work prevented me from playing as much as I'd want and then life takes you in some different directions. Got the Switch version of Cricket 19 that sucked me back in and I recently reinstalled the PC version to have some fun with better graphics. Started a career mode with a new guy where I just thought I'd say how the tallest fast bowler you could make would do - think my guy is 7 foot 2 which is giant. This is the story of my first club career game - I'm the McDonald in all of these screenshots.

We bat first; we score 165 which is not great admittedly. I trudge out to bat at 11 and score a (roughly) run a ball 12 before edging a ball from a left arm unorthodox bowler to the keeper (I bat and bowl left handed because why not). I get the first over with the new ball and, well, chaos begins at the other end. Here is the full scorecard to tell the whole story:

4LT4Ip1.png

Basically; the other team forget how to bat and my new ball partner cuts through the opposition and we end up 3/4. They recover a little bit but a first innings score of 69 (nice) can never be spun as a good thing really and it makes our score look fantastic. Two wickets I take were both good catches; one a diving catch in the gully to make it 3/4, the second a jumping caught behind from a shorter ball (shockingly: the 7 foot bowler gets a lot of bounce off even a good length). Everyone else clearly bowled well - can't say I watched the whole innings.

We score 176 in our second innings. The good news with my personal performance is that I was not out,. The bad news is that is because I ended up not out for 0 without facing a ball; the guy at the other end got himself out before my amazing 0 rated batting could try to poke the ball around. This set our opponents 273 to win and, well:

Possibly the most stressful moment I had in this game were the last few overs. I bowled really well: my figures ended up being 11.1/2/3/16 which are good bowling numbers no matter how you look at it. Bowl the first over and in my first spell I get one of the openers out; and then after changing ends for a two over spell where I just started bowling slower and slower I got a long rest. I came back on at around over 40 when the score was around 170/2; and while I was able to not give up many runs I also wasn't taking any wickets and got taken off fairly quickly. My third and most important spell came starting at over 70: the opposition was 250/7 and on their way to a win; we needed wickets. We had Guptill at the set batsman so the target was Morgan, the man at the other end who was weaker. They kept on creeping closer and closer to the target and it got very nervewracking. The key breakthrough was a mixup (caused by dramatically different running speeds of the batsmen) running out Morgan for a duck which shifted momentum in our direction. The ninth wicket was a total fluke: a full ball that was too straight that Jackson attempted to play on the leg side that bounced off of his pad, then his waist before grazing the top of off taking the bails off - couldn't do that again if you tried. Even then though Guptill - mainly at the other end - was out there scoring runs.

I started my final over with one plan: yorker length, straight at the stumps, inswing: I was bowling at a number 11 so if they missed I hit. First ball struck on the pads: at that point you appeal anything on the pads and it was given. Jumped up in my chair: a one run victory always feels sweet. The best bit of this: I checked the hawkeye afterwards and well:

Don't know if I'd be wanting to be that umpire once the batting team saw that. To me at the time it looked plumb but its funny how these things can decieve.

Here is the summary card showing the whole thing: great game to play and I hope for many more!
