Super 8: 16th Match India v WI

Did I say anything about your pitches?

"When you play your cricket on flat dead wickets".

I think you were talking about pitches in New Zealand then. My bad.

I knew with this pitch and the attack the West Indies have he wouldn't, make anything.
You didn't know. You guessed and you got it right today. For example, Raina, whose technique you pointed out, didn't get out because he was challenged by the bounce on the pitch.

Dhoni's changed as a batsman in OD cricket, and I don't think it's for the good. He used to be incredibly good at upping the pace and hitting boundaries, but now he's just a nudger and a nurdler. It's certainly helped his ODi average but the entertainment value has dropped incredibly. He used to be one of the best batsmen in the world to watch.

I also hate his new Reebok stickers. Awful colours, far too bright and you can only see the sponsor's name in close-ups. Rank.
I think his average has actually decreased once he's turned over this new leaf. And he's probably changed the game because of captaincy. Indian captaincy always destroys you as a batsmen. Look at Tendulkar and Ganguly, for example. Dravid is the only one who really excelled as captain.

Dont need Yousuf to get injured. Looks like Irfan will be bailing us out again.

Yes he did, Edwards worked him over with short pitched bowling and then bowled a fuller ball and got him out caught behind.

In ODi's he actually averages 57 as captain, compared with 44 when not as captain. It's his Strike Rate which has suffered most, with it dropping from 96.26 to 85.10 since taking the captaincy. I thought his average would have dipped as well, considering he's not looked as imposing at the crease, but his average has improved quite alot.

Dhoni has become more of dependable player. That could be due to the fact that he along with Yuvi was the batsman India relied on to score in every match when Ganguly and Dravid were nearing end of carrier.

We need more of Yuvraj here to post 140 odd (that itself wont be enough at all)

Hmm... interesting stats.

I think Dhoni should have come in instead of Raina today for two reasons: (1) he didn't allow Raina to come in at 3 in our previous matches which means Raina had no practice coming out at a time like that and (2) he seems a lot more intent on "rebuilding" the innings these days, even when it is not necessary, whereas it was necessary here.

This would have allowed us to block one side up with Dhoni's nudging.

He has been finishing lot of games for India where he had to play sensible innings and in process has lot of not outs.

Time to open your shoulders lads.
