PC: T20 Blast Tournament - Series 1 - (Round 2)

Actually it's not as straight forward as it seems. The very fact Venk bid for a player he couldn't he jacked up the bid price for the said player and maybe didn't allow someone lke RIZZYX to get the player. Even if RIZZYX or someone gets the same player they might have to end up spending more money.

In nutshell, Venk did break the ground rules of the auction and impacted the auction process. He should be penalized accordingly irrespective of the fact he was outbid and will not get the player else you are penalizing the folks who played by the rules. Also, in the future you may get scenarios where folks will bid for players they can't afford to, just to jack up their bid prices.

P.S. - By the way it's a pretty interesting thread to follow and kudos to @SamP for making it happen.

It didn't matter as it was not the highest bid of that round.

And for the record, bidding just to jack up the price is also an auction strategy. High risk though, as we just saw!

I don't agree with this, all of it happened in the private auction. He bid on the player but other bids were already sent and that time other teams had no idea about how much venk had bid. So whatever bids other teams sent were not keeping in mind venk's bid instead it was Rizzy's bid of the 3rd round which was 1,85,000. Venks bid was disclosed just now.

Irrespective someone who flouts the rules has to be penalized else the message you willl be sending is you can cheat but will only be penalized if you win. Knowingly bidding on a player beyond the salary cap is breaking the fundamental rule of salary cap & auction.

It is and should be but only if you have enough money n the bank to do so.

For the next (final) round, could we be told by PM how many successful bids we have at the moment? It will decrease the chances of only having 14 players.

I thought the bids will go on for as long as all squads are not full

Come on man, if it can be solved in a nicer way it would be good. We are here to play and have fun, lets not go into punishing him now as the issue has been solved in another way. Ofcourse from next time the rules will be strictly implemented.

I think what cricket_online is trying to say is that even though venky is not highest bidder, he had every intention to cheat. He was willing to break rules, not only one but 2.

ok guys i quit from the league i am not here earn a name of cheat where real cheaters roamed and roam freely

Guys please, tone it down a bit. I'll be back in a bit.

I hope you'll reconsider venk.

I seriously hope he doesn't. Because in his last post he tried to implicate one of the other 8 managers as cheat. Everyone else have followed rules.

Just ignore them mate, now that somebody has a higher bid on KP. According to me everything is fine, don't listen to people who still want you to get penalised as that is really unfair.

lets the auction get over and i will continue

we dont want great players we will win the tournament with our playing skills

I think he has a point, I increased my bid in round 4 to 195,000. This perhaps would have been the highest bid in round 4 had Venk not placed his illegal bid and I would have won KP for 195,000.

No mate. Because someone else has bid higher than Venk. His bid has no consequences to the bidding process. A close shave but no harm done actually

For right or for wrong what has happened has happened.

Let just draw a line under it and move on :)

What he meant is that he doesn't want to be called by those names such as a cheat who roamed freely.
