T20 World Cup 2012

Has currently no match practise so will be really hard just to come in and hit the ball

He just played for Leicestershire in Friends Life T20, although he hasn't played too well.

Johnson Charles, once he keeps temperament can be the next big thing, he is a natural stroke maker, its time they confide him to tests only let him develop.

Most of our squad self picks itself.

Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Dhoni, Ashwin, Zaheer, Ojha and Yadav. That's 10, so really only 5 spots open for the rest of the 20 to squish into.

My last 5 would have to be Irfan, Rahane, Dinda, Manoj and Rahul.

I would not have Raina, Zaheer and Ashwin in the team. Raina has been given far too many chances solely cause he is one of the captain's favorites.
Zak,as Sai mentioned is way past his age and I personally feel-past his prime as well. If he concentrates on Tests, it would be better for India. Dinda, Yadav, Irfan and Praveen can prove to be a potent attack for us.

As for the toss up between Rayudu and Naman Ojha, it is a tough one. Naman is a good opener and may have to wait for his chance to break into the side. AT,can , on the other hand, be used as a floater in the order. He can be picked as a specialist bat too.

So no Yuvraj if he is fit?

Sympathy aside, do you really want a player with no proven match fitness for a World Cup ? Agreed ,he has done very well in the past in this format for us, but for him to come out of cancer and directly play internationals is a bit too optimistic. I'd like to see him prove his match fitness, get into some form and only then should he be picked. Selectors are riding on the sympathy wave here for Yuvraj.

Where is Kevon Cooper?

Ha actually i'm glad Nannes is back. In the perfect AUS T20 squad - i would pick one left-arm quick and it was always a straight battle between Nannes of Doug.

But Bollinger should be in the main 30, i hope his exclusion is due to fitness woes.

Why is Ryan Harris not included?. Surely with Lee out - his experience becomes key. Ben Laughin is utter joke selection :facepalm

Harris is in the 30. Laughlin is...interesting, especially given who's been left out. He bowls at the death a lot doesn't he for Hobart? Someone should have asked Inverarity about him at the press conference.

T20s and Raina go hand in hand, an average of 31 in 25 matches is nothing to pass up. The tournament is quite short and it won't hurt Zaheer's Test career in anyway, and Ashwin, he's still our best spinner.

Dinda, Yadav, sure, don't know about the other to being 'potent'.

We dont have better options than Ashwin in T20. I feel people are jumping to conclusions on Ashwin far too quickly because he plays for the same IPL team as our current captain and the BCCI president. Ashwin is still the best bet for T20's because batsmen have to attack him and if they don't attack him, they have to attack others which will help other bowlers. Ashwin creates big pressure in T20 with his super tight bowling and has the tendency to pick wickets. And he is still pretty less experienced in other formats too. Give him time!
