Tamil Music/Movie Thread

Waiting for the audio of "Needhane En Ponvasantham" on September 1. Should be interesting to see if Gautham can bring out the best of Ilayaraja like how he did with Harris and Rahman.

Did anyone hear Makkayala and Thappellam thappe illai from Naan? :p

Heard Thaandavam, they're not upto the level of GV's previous hit albums like Madhrasapattinam, Deivathirumagal and Mayakkam Enna. Liked the screamy song Siva Thaandavam. ;)
Gonna watch Attakathi and Naan because of the positive reviews from many.

----------

Movies I gonna watch in theaters

1. Mugamoodi(Maybe)
2. Maattrraan
3. Vishwaroopam/Thuppaki
4. Kochadaiyaan
5. Neethane en ponvasantham

Bit busy this year 'cause of board exams or I would have watched all the big movies to be released. :p

Mugamoodi comes out tomorrow and I've liked all of Mysskin's previous films, so very much looking forward to it.

Watched Naan. Man, whoa! Really nice thriller. Good try by both Vijay Antony and Jeeva Shankar, the director.
Songs are good too especially "Makkayala Makkayala and Thappellam thappe illai"
It's really nice to watch, a must watch.

And about Mugamoodi, I think it's the Tamil version of batman begins. The trailer is bad for promotion. I guess it'll be a failure.

----------

Wouldn't watch Mugamoodi legally after watching Naan. :p

Mugamoodi's mask looks inspired from Batman. Can't say the entire movie is going to be like Batman. Mysskin is a good film maker who caters to the realistic side of the audience's tastes (co-incidentally just like Nolan). However, I am not expecting an exact replica of Batman in Mugamoodi. People won't enjoy it because the Batman series has done really well in India with its dubbed versions too. And Mysskin wont be that stupid to copy from Batman's storyline.

September will be an interesting month with the audio launch of Neethane En Ponnvasantham and Thuppaki.

Heard that Mugamoodi is a mixup of martial arts and batman. An average movie it seems.

Just heard a bit of each song from Neethane En Ponvasantham. Looks fine in the first hearing. Gautham have extracted a fine album from the Maestro Illayaraja.

Highly disappointing album from Ilayaraaja in "Neethane En Ponvasantham". I thought with the presence of Gautham Vasudev Menon, Ilayaraaja might probably make music that's more in tune with the current generation. But its another mash-up of his standard tunes from the old days so hopelessly tried to match up with the current orchestration. And we have to hear the irritating voices of Yuvan Shankar Raja and Ilayaraaja himself.....:mad

For me, this is Gautham's weakest album. 1.5/5 for me! (I have heard the album thrice to give it the "It sounds better on repeated listenings" fair treatment).

Uyire Uyire, Will you be there, Shiva Thaandavam from Thaandavam
Rettai Kathire, Theeye theeye from Maattrraan
Vaya moodi from Mugamoodi are few latest songs I listen to these days.

Neethane en ponvasantham, I would have rated the songs better. (At-least 2 for 5) :spy

No music in it, but still good. :thumbs

Huh? I expected a reply like this as if you didn't get what I say.
That song didn't have any great music expect the vocal and the clapping sound.
