Tendulkar To Retire after his 200th Test :(

Agreed that we all will miss Tendalya! But i don't really think cricket will die and stuffs. These are like looking like a cartoon for me. We have the next generation cricketers. People would have felt so when Gavaskar and Vishwanath went too but it was the Sachins and Rahuls after that. Now its time for Virats and Sharmas... i meant Rohit :p

When Gavaskar went, his legion of fans didn't believe they would see another Gavaskar. But Sachin came. Same way, Sachin fans feel there wont be another Sachin. But who knows, someone might come up to be better than him.

But its natural for people to feel this way when such a big icon goes.

Gavaskar was a world class batsman. Sachin is a freak of nature. You will not see another Sachin. For one, nobody is going to give you a chance at 16 anymore. Even if they do, there is no way they will stick with you like they did with Sachin. And that's assuming they are as good as Sachin, which is highly unlikely.

Sach Memories - Tendulkars's Journey in cricket

An excellent collection of Sach articles by Midday .

Two most important people in his life .

Statistically we might see a next gen Sachin in the future, but its his on field and off field personality that will be impossible to replicate.

He was an excellent ambassador for the game and his persona reflected everything GOOD about the game of cricket. The thirst to score runs, the gentlemanly demeanor on the field, the inquisitive/calculative mind, the squeaky clean image off the field, the humility and an unabashed love for the game. You can have the gift of talent and train yourself to score runs by the thousands, but the qualities above are totally inherent :yes

Its these qualities that made him so lovable to Indians everywhere. I think he will be the only cricketer who actually had a real emotional connect with the elderly Indian women and the housewives. They think of him as a member of their own family - case in point my grandma, who had ZERO interest in cricket but watched Sachin bat or give interviews because she considered him 'ghar ka bachcha' (a kid in her household)

You cannot replicate that IMO

A very patient and a valuable knock of 55* from Sachin today in the surprisingly super popular Ranji game vs Haryana. Must do his confidence a world of good for those final two test matches of his life. Mumbai need 39 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand and Sachin is batting. This could be a thriller in the offing. Am sure the crowd in Lahli tomorrow must be humongous. Lahli is a small town which has been seeing amazing crowds for a Ranji game, just because of the occasion (Sachin's last Ranji game and one of his last appearences on the cricket field as a player).

Gavaskar Tendulkar have been legends for India. Let us also not forget that the current line up boasts of some players who can easily topple them. I am talking about Virat Kohli here, whom many have tipped to emulate or even go further than Tendulkar.

Additionally, there is this young kid from Maharashtra, Vijay Zol . Do check him out cause the way I see it, he will be the next big thing in world cricket.
