TENNIS Tennis World Tour

It's always about context regardless, difficulty level, player level, etc.

I've even seen some idiots record AI v AI as if that's any representation of how the game plays. (TWT doesn't have AI v AI AFAIK, and we're unlikely to have AI v AI in any of our games going forward, it chews up more resources than its value.)

What's the point of developing a game and have the AI play itself, surely a results generator is implemented in a second and the user then plays their game... Or am I just getting things wrong? Sure, have fun and do it but never pass it off as the real thing and any relevant basis for game play.

I bet he is still ignoring me... ? x x x

"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - Based on ten years of ball tracking data taken from Australian Open championship matches, players behave as they would in real life."

If CPU players behave as they would in real life as you claim, AI v AI should provide a pretty realistic match, no?

What does that quoted claim on your official site even mean? I hope somebody at BA can elaborate...

He's ignoring you too? He's ignoring me too as I was upset about the lack of stats (DBC 17 had no stats tracked for players... Yes in a cricket game). Could the tracking just be for the listed licensed players... I.E. Nadal holding his back and Djokovic can do the robot.[DOUBLEPOST=1528740127][/DOUBLEPOST]
Righteo then... I've got my opinions on each game I've played over the years, not everyone has to like it or agree
Bribery usually works for me...

I mostly "play" the game by watching AI vs AI, and I wouldn't call myself an idiot, but I will happily call myself "the idiot who pestered BigAnt for ball side-spin for 4 years", with it now paying big dividends ever since Mikeymerren, being the amazing man he is (we should call him "the listener" !), took it on board and eventually he and the rest of your coders implemented it into AO Tennis with such realism since the last patch update!

Admittedly AI vs AI doesn't depict what its like to be the "player" at one end of the court, but anyone who thinks the AI in this game is not realistic isn't seeing the same as me when I watch AI vs AI on it, I take on board Madman's comments re: what does this ball tracking actually mean, but for me, AI vs AI is showing some organic and beautiful gameplay and that was even before the sidespin was implemented into it, and to have the AI react to the ball swerving all over the place now, realistically, means you really do have some intelligent AI in this game.

Possibly some will not see player individualism and I haven't looked for that so far as I hoped you would get the ball physics to how they are now in the game, and with the Stadium Editor and Player Face facilities coming on just fine, we are all on a winner here I feel.

Btw Ross I know you were not aiming the AI vs AI idiot comments at me, but by coincidence, after our sidespin arguments over the years, its ironic that AI vs AI is a big love of mine!

Oh and Ross, please don't remove AI vs AI in the future for your games (surely if it "chews up resources", i.e. memory resources, how does that affect anything else, if the customer has chosen to watch it like that?), I even watch Ashes Cricket via that method and it plays great. By watching AI vs AI the AI can truly be appreciated, its not as easy to do that if you are analyzing the AI ability whilst playing against it (I mean for us customers, not you guys).

There was a guy on a FIFA 17 forum 2 years ago who told me he has no choice but to watch AI vs AI as he has issues with his arms and cannot play a game, it would be impossible for him to use a controller or keyboard/mouse to play a sports game, but by simply clicking on the game, choosing AI vs AI, he was made up, happy as a sandboy that he could at least sit back and watch great AI at work, and experience FIFA 17 that otherwise, if he had to control one of the teams, would not be possible for him, so please please remember this if you make that decision in future.

You are doing your own AI a big disservice because believe me, your AI is up there with the FIFA/PES AI at present in terms of organic decision making, and I know just how hard it is to code AI, its the most time consuming coding of games like this and you guys should be very proud of it.

Being honest I have never got any good results from AI vs AI matches and I play a lot of sport games.

get results from watching AI vs AI? Not sure how you can to be honest, its only for Exhibition matches where you can sit back and now, since 1.27, watch Nadal bend that ball up the sideline as his opponent gets there and whips it back to the other side of the court for a winner, all whilst you sit there eating a plate of Fish and Chips.

Or Weetabix. (other Cereals are available)

Oh yes, the AI in FIFA is actually very good.

Let me know if you want me to jog on x

Btw I was talking about AO Tennis CazCat and its great AI, did you think I was talking about TWT?

No... Considering Ross (Who ignores me) plays for the other side... I mean works for Big Ant.
