Test Cricket tweak

Thx Ravi , I got the files.Though the procedure to start the play seems a bit complicated.Does this mean that we can bat and bowl only 49 overs

Not always, I started a game and lost the toss. I was asked to bat and had started the game using the ODI bowling.exe, played out the first over saved it and restarted using the ODI batting.exe. You might want to check with Shailesh and Jonah how they use it.

I always start with bowl.exe, then if I'm batting quit the game after an over and restart with bat.exe. After 49 overs, quit the game, play the last over with bowl.exe, then you're ready to start your bowling innings.

Ravi, not quite sure what happened, but since my post when the cpu were 40/1 off 10 overs, they collapsed to 168 all off 33 overs.
I installed the very latest set you sent.
Cpu seemed to have difficulty timing, played a lot of late/early shots (I got 4 caught and bowled...I think something needs doing with that?) and bowled 4 batsmen.
Maybe I'll revert to the set you sent before this set of exes? Having said that, it is on a damp wicket in overcast conditions, so I'll see how I get on batting. Also the c & b thing...

Just a thought, if the cpu can't be made to bat reasonably on all surfaces, maybe just concentrate on normal, hard, dry wickets for one dayers? Once that's done, however the cpu bats on damp, green, dusty we'll have to put up with. What do you say?

Now i hope I dont have any problems.I downloaded the 2 exe's file. When I run the ODIBOWLING.exe it installs just 2 folders configs and captures which I replace with default folders after back up of default ones.I start the game using the default exe file since I do not get the "bat.exe" or "bowl.exe".

And similarly when I installs the 2 folders from ODIBATTING.exe , at the end of installation it says"Unable to run bat.exe"

So tell me do I have to run the default exe's

All right there seems to be some problem with your installation. You will need to point to the install directory (directory where you have installed Cricket2002) lets say
d:\EA Sports\Cricket2002. Make sure the directory name is correct, the installer for some reason seem to put in its own directory name if you change the default directory from c:\EA Sports\Cricket2002 Once the installation is complete it should simply run the cricket2002.exe on its own. Hope this solves the issue you have.

Jonah, looks like something has been screwed up there otherwise it should not also be coming up with the error mentioned by Amber. Will resend the file mate, sorry about that.
Also I reckon it might just have been the wrong files I suppose. Anyways you continue with the batting and I will test the damp ones shortly.

Everything ran OK with mine Ravi, just seemed to make the cpu batting go awry  .
Btw, I always thought you lived in NZ? If so, it must be about 4 in the morning there? Now that's what I call dedication to the cause :D ...

I think the files might be wrong because in the readme it says "Test Cricket Tweak".And it does'nt install the the c2002.exe automatically after the stop of installation.

However the bowling cursor was large in the first over as I was batting and was using the 2 folder from ODIBOWLING.exe but after the first over it was OK except the cursor was visible late.

Anyway the start was not easy as I could manage just 9 runs from 3 overs with me as India and CPu as Aus.Tehn finally I played till 15 overs with India as 68/0.The bowlers used so far are Lee,Mcgrath and Symonds(off spinner).I was able to hit symonds for 2 sixes on the leg side. The conditions were overcast. There were 3 edges(2 outside and 1 inside) but the 2 outsides were when both the shots were played on the leg side.I am yet to get an edge off an off side shot or defensive shot

Probably the l_hard file was a bit awary. Hopefully it would be fixed in the one I sent. You are right, I live in NZ and guess what am on leave for the next couple of days. I have no plans in place for the next two days but for playing games on PC. BTW I finished my inning scoring a healthy 198/7 off 50 overs. I played for India against the Kiwis and Shewaj ended up being unbeaten. Check the scores below. Now is my chance to check if the CPU batting fiasco was one off or it is in all sorts of pitches. Will update you soon.

Amber, dont botherthe text file that came along with it, its a farce(I havent changed the notepad since started on test tweak). If you had started with ODI bowling.exe then the cursor for the first over will be huge, when you next used the ODI batting.exe the cursor was not seen which is perfect, thats the way this works. The edges will be evident as the inning goes on and surely you will get out few times in the slips. Check my batting I can assure you there were plenty of edges.

That's the life Ravi...no plans but to play pc games :D ...
That's a great effort there mate; superb effort on a green top ; be interesting to see how the cpu holds up.
Btw, I'm coming round to your bowling cursor idea. At first, with lower ave bowlers, it was still reasonably easy to place the cursor. When I used higher average bowlers, the cursor gets huge, so making it more difficult to get that precision placing. Great idea  ...

Check out the chase Jonah, its really interesting. Looks like history is repeating itself, Srinath economical and unplayable, Zaheer temperamental but taking wickets at regular intervals, Ashish not very impressive. The brittle top order of NZ but a good fighting spirit from the middle order. Am I blowing the trumphet a little too eary or should I wait till they get there. Although I support NZ a bit more than India, I will try to bowl my best to get them bowled out.

Now should I go on with previous files or continue with the NEW files.I guess the latter one is more appropiate

Use the new ones amber, right Ravi?

Mani, the files are Ravi's, so it's really up to him if he wants to distribute them more widely. I'm sure once he's happy with them he'll upload them/send them out to whoever :) .

No favouritism re the NZ run chase Ravi...not too much short stuff inviting those late sq cuts ;) ...
Tell me Ravi, are you getting many cpu edges/play and misses, being on a green-top?

I have sent you guys a new one which should set all of the previous ones right. The edges were one too many and also the seam, spin movement were a bit too much for CPU to handle. I could bowl out CPU eventually for around 178 off 42 overs with the help of lots of yorkers :D . Go with the ones Ive just sent, they seem to play well. Also with the new ones better the team better the performance, I started another game this time against India and am playing for NZ. Tell you what I am not knowing where to bowl and how to bowl even on the green top, its got me thinking for sure. There have been few edges but have fallen short, will post the results pretty soon.

I havent really made much changes to the batting setup files, very minor changes in particular the amount of legspin has been reduced it was a bit too high to be true. I retained the old ones were because it played damn well on the green surface, it was truly realistic. You had to play in a player to score runs faster and at the same time needed to build partnership to post a good score. Also running had to be aggressive to keep the scoreboad ticking.

Mani, the files really arent mine alone infact the patience Jonah in particulat, Shailesh and Amber have shown is awesome. Without their cooperation this would have taken ages to have taken a shape. I suppose from now there are very little changes needed to the existing ones and we should have a perfect working gamepatch. If they reckon we should share it with all and when they reckon this will only enhance the fun in the game we will certainly release it.

Well Ravi .REached the 36 th over .India 182/5(realistic).Kaif and Yuvi bowled by inside edges from Symonds.Dravid and sehwag got lbw while Sachin was run out.Harvey in particular was difficult to face and was very economical.

I think the files you sended the latest were the same as previous because I was getting the same error for bat.exe.I want to confirm that is bat.exe is different from ODIBATTING.exe which you send us in mail.If so then I dont have the bat.exe and bowl.exe.
And I think if you guys have bat.exe or bowl.exe you dont have to overwrite the folders again and again which I have to do because I think the bat.exe files just saves your energy of overwriting the folders again and again.
If so then why I am getting the error .Pelase check
