feck me Smith is a lucky git sometimes![DOUBLEPOST=1567872106][/DOUBLEPOST]
I can only think that Woakes' fancy sports bra has reported that he's close to the red zone. One of the reasons I think Stokes bowled such a long spell at Headingley could have been because the bowlers had little time to rest because of the batting in the first innings.
yeah its the double edged sword of England's poor batting: the bowlers are overworked.[DOUBLEPOST=1567872184][/DOUBLEPOST]And again he misses the stumps!

I think it might be a Root thing. Similar problem with Adil Rashid, he's either being given bowlers he doesn't want or doesn't use those he does have effectively.

I appreciate Smith for the fact that he is obviously in a league of his own but i also do think he is a bit of a twat.

I've definitely warmed to Steve Smith after his return. He's been nothing but genuinely nice. Was he a twat? YES! But, life should give everyone a chance to grow and boy has he grown!

EDIT- Stuart Broad is still a twat!

yeah I know, heard some interviews from him and he is genuinely nice. Just frustrated and jealous!
I know what you mean. You just have to take your hat off to him and enjoy seeing a master at work. I've enjoyed watching him since I saw him at Pune Warriors some years back, before he became a titan of test cricket, when he was beginning to look more like a batsman and not a bowling all rounder. Think he won me some money in one game when they needed 50 off 4 overs or something like that. Even then there was no indication of the player he'd become though.

I am very wary of people saying we lost the Ashes because they had Smith...no, we lost the Ashes because we had a top 4 averaging feck all! Mr Burns excluded! And I suppose Root has made runs but not quite enough.

Stokes: 70
Burns: 46
Root: 35
Bairstow: 25
Denl: 21
Buttler: 13
Roy: 11

Woakes who was dropped: 28
