If only cook played like this at the Start of the Ashes series, I happy to see that he is playing well but too bad they lost the Ashes Already.

I think this series has been more about England struggling to make it all come together. I for one definitely don't like Root at 4. I think he has to bat freely and bat at 3 to set the tone. There was a lot of chirp about the 'fragile' English batting pre Ashes but I think their bowling frailties are very very visible. I think Ben Stokes presence made Ali and Woakes thrice the cricketers they actually were. They both have been the 90's English all rounders that do a little bit of both but not special in any way and I think they're both far better than that. I've seen Woakes hit helmets in the sub continent at 145-150 clicks but I know not where that pace has vanished and he's a bloke that can really bat. The wickets have been good for batting and he's just not applied himself. Ali I've always felt is going to struggle in Australia. He has a hard time coping with bounce.

Very true if he got decent scores in the first three tests the series may be a bit different.

Well the solution is quite obvious now and I can see it plain as day.
Wipe the memories of the whole England squad before every single test match. That way they won't know the significance of each game that they're playing and by extension won't soil their undies and crumble under the pressure every time. Move aside Trev.

Okay... Let's try a solution that doesn't involve mind altering drugs... ? You can't take the fear out of a Pom unless most of the squad are either ex Ozzie's, Kiwi's or Saffa's... ?

When are you answering the questions I took the trouble to paste in your AMA... !!!

One ball! One ball!

Come on Anderson, I wanted you to hold the tail while Cook attacked his way to a maiden triple century.

Either way, its the highest score for a batsmen to carry his bat through - what a way to find form.

Not with the England tail if someone like Broad hanged around then maybe but sadly, no.

Think you'll find that I have and yes, there might just be a tiny bit of truth to that you know.

England fans... That can of whoop ass is still in the fridge chillin... Let's watch us crack the seal for you... 5-0... !!!!!!!

All it needs is Smith and Warner to both get centuries and it's a walk over again but if England dig in they have a chance of winning a match but I doubt it.

Do you know that this is a five day match. If both of them make 100s , this match is surely heading for a draw.

For any interest in this match I feel England needed to bat longer very happy for Cook but it has died which is a shame. Along with the series I was hopeful of a tight well thought series.[DOUBLEPOST=1514538698][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yep, hindsight is a useful tool we don't know and wont know what was going through his mind but I don't feel they'll replace Bancroft for the series but I don't feel his batting has been any better than Renshaw.

I've seen plenty of openers come from outside the sub continent and embarrass themselves in India. Matt Renshaw held his own and completely looked the part at a pretty young age. Haseeb Hameed is another chap. I'll wait for Bancroft to do something like that for him to be labelled as Renshaw's equal.
