Bond had more than one good game against Aus. He was able to trouble Aus batsmen in both forms of the game when he last played a test against them.

Hey fardin get your facts straight, Bond and Akhtar have both troubled Australia. No one has troubled them more than the other. And they have done it when the likes of Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh were still in the team. Bond's VB Series against Australia was phenomenol. It looked like he had a grudge against the Aussies. He performed crap against South Africa in the tournament, while he single-handedly demolished the Aussies in their own backyard. What Akhtar has done, I think everyone remembers. The 2004/05 series was just a glimpse of what he had done to the Aussies in the past.

Sureshot IMO the trademark of a 'fast' bowler is his yorker. Harmison's yorkers are not that impressive, can even be dug out by Aussie tail-enders? :)

fardin, what are you smoking? Bond is leading the poll by a mile. Being from NZ does make me a bit biased. That I can admit.

Lets look at the statistics.

Ahktar
ODI:
123 Matches
192 Wickets
Best: 6/16
Average: 22.87
Economy 4.57
Strike Rate: 30.00

Test:
36 Matches
144 Wickets
Best: 6/11 - 11/78
Average: 24.78
Economy 3.35
Strike Rate: 44.34

Bond
ODI:
31 Matches
62 Wickets
Best: 6/19
Average: 17.16
Economy: 4.11
Strike Rate: 25.04

Test:
12 Matches
56 Wickets
Best: 6/51 - 10/99
Average: 20.80
Economy: 3.34
Strike Rate: 37.33

Lee
ODI:
112 Matches
200 Wickets
Best: 5/27
Average: 22.16
Economy: 4.67
Strike Rate: 28.44

Test:
41 Matches
158 Wickets
Best: 5/47 - 8/123
Average: 31.91
Economy: 3.65
Strike Rate: 52.33

In Red are the best stats between the three. They all have fantastic statistics. I can admit, Bond is the least experianced so perhaps his figures arn't as reliable but so far he has been very consistant so I don't see why his figures would worsen. Italics are most matches/most wickets. Lee has more wickets despite playing less matches. So Lee is ahead in this department. Lee and Ahktar are both most Experianced. Best figures go to Ahktar. Average, Economy and Strike Rates all go to bond. The 3 most important figures in my opinion. As time goes by they may drop a little but probably not below Lee and Ahktars. He is a nice way ahead. Lee and Ahktar get the pace point but I have to say Bond gets the accuracy one.

The statistics tell me Bond followed by Lee with Ahktar in 3rd. There isn't much between the three though really. They are all world class.

I just think having a FAST bowler in the team who can bowl 90mph is a vital clog in the team, as a extra weapen.

Agarkar bowls totel rubbish in the last 10 odi games he has played, is eco is way over 6, and he has'nt got a good strike rate either. Even all of the zim bowlers bowl better then him, and his batting as gone totel rubbish, iI can still remember when he was playing agaisnt the aussies in the test matches and he got 7 ducks in a row IMO agsint them. Even a number 11 batsmen has'nt broken that record yet.
Agarkar averaged around 20 with the ball last season at the best strike rate of the lot. With the bat he also averaged in the 20 mark. He may be a bit expensive, but he was the fastest to 50 wickets, and second fastest to 61 wickets(I know, I know, useless info, but tell that to ESPN:p). He also has scored a test 100(Agaisnt England at Lords as well!) and the fastest 50 by and Indian. In the Videocon Cup he took 11 wickets, and if it wasn't for the final, his figures could have been so much better. He deserves a place in the team, everyone just seems to look past his good performances, and although it may not seem like it while he plays, he is India's most consisten performer.

:D

He does bowl good yorkers, just only in ODIs.

I just think it's ridiculous that Harmison, Flintoff or Jones aren't in the Poll.

Bond isn't the best bowler in the world. warne is.

Bond is the best current fast bowler by far. Does anyone remember NZ VS AUS world cup 2003?, where bond ripped through the aussie top and middle order.

His done many achievments like that.

Never reached number one in the world like Harmison though. Impressive stats, shame he didn't feature over here last year.

What do you mean by that? Are Lee, Akhtar, Harmison etc a bunch of fools? Indiangod watch the Super Challenge 2002 or the 1999 Indian tour of Australia, you'll change your mind. Bond has control over his bowling, but that itself doesnt take him far away from the likes of Akhtar, Lee, Harmison etc

His ODI stats seem amazing. But didn't he just take about 10 wickets for 60odd against Zimbabwe in the series?

Mate, this is a Fast Bowler Thread not a Spin Bowler Thread. Of course Shane Warne is the best bowler overall, thats irrelevant though.

Harmison, Jones and Flintoff arn't really in the same class as these three.

Flintoff is getting there. He will never be an out and out quick but he is very threatning with the ball.
It would be good to see Bond in a test match against a good side as that will show us how much he has improved since his return from injury.

just because england are winning the ashes (just i might add) doesnt mean their bowlers are the greatest ever, australias form has been below poor, but good signs from this match so far:), anyway the way england have rocked australia is to good bowling, but imho the aussies have brought onto themselves and never looked determinded
