Over the recent years, Cricket Australia has had various problems. These have included, losing top position on the Test and ODI Championship Tables, Losing their streak of 3 wins at the ICC Cricket World Cup and losing the Ashes Series Quite often.

A big blow also to them was losing all of their big name players. Australian Domestic cricket skills went down thoroughly as the youth coming through to Australian Cricket was not as much of a high quality as recent years e.g. Ricky Ponting's men.

At the international stage, Kenya and Ireland have made vast improvements and are now test nations. Along with this, England are now ontop of both the ODI and Test Championships.

However not much in the media has changed. Channel 9 has constantly hung onto rights to broacast all Cricket Australia games. However Channel 9 have invested lots of money into keeping their cricket network updated with technologies such as Hawkeye, Hotspot and a few new ones which were released after 2015. Mr Eddie McGuire's Comments were "Cricket is one of our big traditions on Channel 9 and we weren't willing to lose rights for it." Of coarse there are alot of new commentators. These are Brett Lee, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Shaun Tait and finally Mike Hussey.

Australia face an extremely tough challange as the upcoming series (home and away) are against teams ranked higher then it. These Include England (Ashes in Australia), Home Series against South Africa and Tour of Pakistan. Along with trying to win back pride of winning the ICC 20/20 Championship, ICC Cricket World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy. (Of which they will be hosting the Champions Trophy)

This is a brief look to the future games for Australia

The 2020 Ashes Series (Australia) With 5 Tests Series, 20/20 and ODI Series including England and India.
The 2021 Champions Trophy (Australia)
The 2021 Tour of Pakistan (3 Tests, 5 Game ODI Series)

Skipper Quits, Coach sacked As Aussies Hit New Low in Latest Ratings
By G.E. Rotewell

CA CEO Marcus North speaks to the press over Australia's poor form.

The backlash has been severe for an embarassing 6 months in cricket, as The IBCCOACR (International Board of Complete Control Over All Cricket Regardless - formerly known as the ICC) today announced that Australia has sunk to a new low in World Rankings, with the Aussies languishing in 6th spot in both forms of the game, after an embarassing tour of Kenya, in which the Aussies drew the 2 match Test series, 1-1, and lsot the 3 match ODI series, 2-1.

The consequences were announced by Cricket Australia CEO Marcus North, who today revealed that following the retirement of 33 year old skipper, Judd Hansen, coach Adam Gilchrist has been sacked. North said that the decision was a tough one, but was needed.

"We've got to move on here, and Adam has failed to deliver enough in his 3 years at the helm. We will miss him as a legend of the game, but we need to do this for the good of our national cricket team."

Appointed in Gilchrist's place is former Centre of Excellence bowling coach, Daniel Lee (Brett_Lee), a former QLD Pura Cup player, whose career looked bright until a knee injury halted his rapid approach towards a Test Cap. Lee said that he was looking forward to the challenge, but his interview was quite long and boring and won't be reported in here right now.

Shortlisted for the new Aussie captain to replace Hansen include veteran batsman Clark Porterfield, spinner Gary Maystead, and young paceman Dean Sherr. Chairman of Selectors. Maystead is expected to get the nod as he's from New South Wales.

Australia is expected to make several changes to its squad ahead of the upcoming Ashes Series, which Australia has not won since 2010/11.

The Tables:
Code:
Test:
1. England
2. South Africa
3. Pakistan
4. India
5. New Zealand
6. Australia
7. West Indies
8. Bangladesh
9. Sri Lanka
10. Kenya
11. Zimbabwe
12. Ireland

ODI:
1. South Africa
2. India
3. England
4. Pakistan
5. Sri Lanka
6. Australia
7. New Zealand
8. Bangladesh
9. West Indies
10. Kenya
11. Ireland
12. Zimbabwe

The Australian Fall from Grace:
-Following an amazing run in which Australia won or draw more than 30 tests in a row, the Australians are upset during a tour of South Africa in 2009, losing the Test and ODI series, 2-0 and 4-1 respectively. Skipper Ricky Ponting retires, and Michael Clarke is appointed his replacement.
-Australia loses the Ashes in 2010/11, and fails to regain them since.
-The Aussies return home, where Clarke is injured in the First Test of another shock loss, this time to the West Indies, but they recover to draw the series 1-1. They then draw again against Pakistan, 1-1 again.
-Clarke's injury is worse than thought, and he becomes the new Michale Vaughan, only worse, and never plays a Test again, but just 3 ODIs before retiring in 2012.
-World Cup Semi Final loss to South Africa in 2011 (The Proteas choked against underdogs Pakistan in the final) despite being favourites to win a 4th successive cup.
-The Australians lose another tour, this time at India, losing their Test Series 2-0 (from 4) and narrowly win the ODI series 3-2.
-Australia finally wins a series, against lowly Bangladesh at home, but draw the following series at home against Sri Lanka, 2-2. The triangular ODI series incurs the Aussies first win in 3 years, but only after controversy.
-Vice Captain Cameron White is finally appointed captain of the side (and Bill Lawry celebrates all night) after Clarke retires, and guides them to their first overseas double tour win since before the SA tour, when they beat the West Indies 2-1 in Tests, and 3-0 in ODIs.
-Australia goes on to lose 4 successive Test series', and breaks it against newcomers Kenya.
-The home World Cup is a disaster, with the Aussies bowing out in the Super 10 stage, after winning just 3 matches in it.
-Ireland makes its first trip to Australia, and manages to beat Australia oncein the ODI series with South Africa. The Proteas win Number 1 Test spot off England, by beating the Aussies 4-0, the first whitewash on Australian soil in over 30 years.
-The Aussies regain some respect, beating New Zealand and Sri Lanka at home in Test and ODI cricket, moving them back up to 4th on the table.
-Australia tours Kenya in 2019, and loses 2-1 in the ODI series, and draw 1-1 in Tests, falling to 5th on the table in both forms of the game.
