i dont know how the hell surav ganguly got on the list. alan border for mine. he was up there with the most test runs for so long and took australia out of the ditch it was in more than a decade ago. i cant understand how you put ganguly in there ahead of so many better batsman and graeme smith has done a decent job but has only been playing for a couple of years. your evaluating the best left handed batsman of all time in the history of cricket. i dont think you researched your options enough

Graem Smith and Ganguly don't deserve to be there. There hae been tons of left handers who have done more than those two guys

Ganguly is great, highest century getting leftie, 22. almost 10000 runs, will be 3rd or 4th player to get there.

Graham Pollock! but from your list Id say Lara.

So glad to see that someone knows who the greatest was. Graeme Pollock was legendary. Only played 23 tests before SA went into isolation, but averaged 60 and had a top score of 274 against Australia.

Other than that, Sobers and Lara for me.

Highest century getting lefty??? In ODI's yes....but Lara is only 3 behind with 19. The proper stat is that Lara has 30 TEST hundreds as opposed to Ganguly's 11. Bit of a gap there.

Oh, and just for the record, Ganguly only has 22 first class 100's and Lara has 59...

The gap is the width of Canada methinks

I voted for lara anyway, but ganguly is not thaaaaaaaaaaat bad, he can be in list of lefties.

Graeme Pollock has been over looked. He is undoubtedly the best lefty. He does have the highest average among the lefties.

well Ganguly does deserve a place he isnt that bad. 22 ODI is pretty hard record to beat as far as i can see( no one has beaten it yet not even LARA)
but there is no way G.Pollock n Border can be left out
PS the only reason why Lara has 56 coutny centuries is because Ganguly hasn't play as much County Cricket

I can't believe Thorpe's name has not even been mentioned, yet Strausses has!

No, the reason Lara has 56 FC centuries is because he is good and plays a lot of cricket. Nothing to do with Ganguly. Also they aren't just county centuries.

where is record holder left hand batsman

true, but ganguly doesn't play as many FC matches as Lara does.

First of all, comparsion is baseless. Lara (was/is/will be) legendary. Ganguly was a great, and will be so...mainly in ODI's.

Its hard to judge G.Pollock, just 23 tests..it could have gone either way (no offence), he could have averaged beyond 60 or may be his averaged would have gone down (though his FC career is amazing).

I don't know those "tons" of left handers, but Ganguly is a ODI legend. Yet he doesn't deserve to be in this list.

There are "few" other players who are better than him..besides the obvious.
I believe David Gower should be in the list, Kallicharan, and may be Adam Gilchrist.

G. Smith is far from being a great.
