The Official 'Quitters' Thread

Was he bowling a lot of extras and no balls or where you trying to hit every ball for 6? Can't blame him for quitting if you slogged that many in 3 overs :p Its hardly cricket

Dear God I hope online isn't just a boring slog-fest like AC09 was. Hated it sometimes. Utterly boring!

Bowl ball in perfect spot; wait for ball to go over boundary: repeat until all overs have been played.:noway

Yea,

Im sure there will be select people who want to play tactically, and not Yuvraj the game up.

He balled just one no ball, playing online with the action cam is very very easy. You can smash each ball for six.
But playing with action cam in single player mode is the opposite, it is the most authentic experience you can ever get.

Not good to hear, can you choose difficulty level online? I hope its not set to easy by default.

Mate, I tried to play in a proper way but the action cam makes the game so simple online that you cannot stop yourself. I am afraid to say but its even easier than Ashes Cricket 2009 when playing multiplayer online, you can expect scores of 350-400 easily in 20 over games.

There is no option to chose the difficulty level.

Well, from all my friends playing on ps3 (the same guys who were in PC leagues) they are all having realistic matches with scores from 130s to 220s .

I think you were just playing someone who was really awful, and that coupled with your six hitting fetish led to what happened.

at least I hope so.

I played with Boundaries and even smashed him for around 90 runs in a 5 over game, that was my 1st online game. Swann got hit for 32 runs in his one over.(no no-balls were bowled in his over). No sudden ball movement was made in all of my games.

May be this is because not most of the people who played Ashes Cricket 2009 on PC played with a controller of their current console whereas I played it with my XBOX 360 controller, so may be that is what is making it easy for me as it is difficult to adapt from keyboard to controller.

I think you need to play some quality opposition first before you declare the online too easy. Check the leaderboards, ask those guys for games and for gods sake play a 20 over minimum. 5-10 overs is garbage and you can't assess anything about the game from such a short match

Yeah they are garbage, but at the moment the servers are not trust worthy. You can get disconnected anytime and you get frustrated. But I'll try to get a full 20over game with a quality opponent.

You'll have to play against my demon bowling. I certainly didn't find online too easy; only just managed to get 90 in 15 overs.
That said I've noticed in this game that the lofted shot button is probably too easy to execute.

Is short pitch bowling a boundary everytime? That usually was the case in AC09, no respect to anything pitched short.

There's something a bit wrong with the short bowling imo. It bounces too low and can practically be played off the front foot. I've had some bouncers smashed over cover as well. :facepalm
I've managed to get dot balls off some free hits with short pitched balls though so maybe there's hope.

filmguy76_uk, ps3 i was 155 for 1 (pak vs aus)... quit around the 10th over

You were absolutely right mate.

I played a t20 with the No.1 ranked player on XBOX LIVE, and I was 40/2 after 5 overs then by getting singles, doubles and some boundaries I reached 133/4 of 13.4 overs(I had to play really well to get here and the powerstick came into good use) and connection was lost. We started one more game and it was a green top, I managed only 67 in 13.5 overs, while chasing he was 9/2 and the game lost connection again. I know I made a very small total but I think the match would have been close as the ball was doing all sorts of tricks.

So I'd say - If you get a quality opposition and play a t20 or one day you'll experience realistic cricket. :)
I am very very happy now.

Great to hear that you had to resort to taking singles and doubles when the wickets fell. Just give it a bit of time and soon you will know who all the good and serious players are.

I hope the server issues are resolved as well.
