Story The Origin Of Test Cricket:IvoBligh's XI in Australia;1882-83;3rd Test; Two innings in one day!!!

Fantastic - especially the use of B&W. I have a suggestion. Why not make it sepia-tinted (slightly brownish grey) instead of pure Black and White? That would give it a really classic feel.

Great game and great idea too.

setting it in the beginning is probably the best idea anyone has had

The overnight not duo of Horan and Giffen get into the rescue act. With the English bowlers giving nothing away, the batsmen take chances. But as the saying goes, Luck Favors The Brave. They survive some anxious moments,a near run out and a dropped catch.

The score moves onto 105 before Horan falls to a great catch by Barlow off Bates.Admist some ordinary fielding, there have been some good saves and a brilliant catch.
Giffen moves onto to his fifty off 63 balls.A great example of counter attacking by this colonist batsman. He's got runs all around the ground.

Blackham is the next one to go.He misses one from Bates and would have been certainly stumped if not bowled.

Giffen is the big gun.He is caught by Shrewsbury, trying to run theball down to the third man.A great innings under pressure!
Palmer has a tame end to his innings, caught and bowled off Shaw

Evans is the last wicket to fall.He yorks himself, going forward to Bates.
Boyle, however, comes up with theory"The best way to defend is to attack".He slams two mighty sixes and is still around by lunch time.

Australia are 9 down for 159 at the end of the session.Bates has been destroyer-in-chief this morning, finishing with 5/48.

I have been following this story right from the time you created it.. and have to say, that improvements in this has been fantastic. Getting better and better.

Also, was shocked to see Aus's position. They(Aus) slipped the game away from their own hands. Classic story. :clap

Boyle and Cooper contonue to frustrate England.Cooper plays a perfect Cover Drive off Shaw and its the best timed shot one would ever see.
Boyle however soon falls to Peate.Barlow hangs onto outside edge and Australia end at 175.Peate finishes with 4/39 off 10.1 overs.Bates has 5/48.England lead by 92 runs

England:267
Australia:175
England lead by 92 runs

England come out to bat with the aim to bat Australia out of the match.Ulyett is a bit off colour and is the first one to go.Evans has him caught by Massie at point.
Barlow has a snorter which grows big on him.He tries to hook, gets an upper edge and Giffen take a good running catch.

Bates falls to a overhead catch by Mcdonnell in slips off Evans.

Shrewbury plays along the wrong line and is duly caught.
Selby however has a respise, when a mishit falls between the players.England do need luck like that.

Selby doenot last long and is bowled by part time off-spin of Bannerman.

So, at tea, England are 76/5 off 22 overs.Selby coming up with a substantial score for the first time in series. The pitch is as unpredictable as it was previously.Australia do have a chance if they can dismiss England quick and for a low score.

England 76/5;22 Overs
Midwinter:8(11)*
Scotton:7(3)*
Evans:6-2-17-3
Bannerman:7-1-24-2

Bannerman has been the surprise package this session. He was bought on just so the bowlers could change ends but has bowled beautifully.

great presentation i still can't get over the time and effort here

Batter should have been really suprised with the way, the things are happening to them. England should fight to get a 300 lead.

Classic presentation as always. :clap

Scotton's uppish drive is gasped by Massie off Boyle.

Emmet is caught by Boyle off his own bowling.
Midwinetr, meanwhile is not able to repeat his first innings heroics. He is beaten in flight by Evans and he is stranded midway in the pitch while Blackham has the easiest of the stumpings.
Pilling also goes soon.Caught at silly point off an inner edge off Evans by Bannerman.

Shaw is playing the captains's knock. He has a slice of luck.Boyle is late on breaking the stumps and Shaw scampers in safe.He and Peate are frustrating the Australians. Each and every run scored is adding to Australian misery.Tenth wicket partnership is worth 32 when Peate is dismissed and the English innings ends at 147.

Evans gets some stick from the last wicket but still finishes with 5/50 off 10 overs.Australia now need 240 to win. They bat with caution and safetly negotiate 7 overs before close of play.Bannerman and Massie survive some anxious moments but live to fight another day. They chip off 15 runs off the target. This been a timeless match, Australia can win but only if they really apply themselves.the pitch is not at all favoring the batsmen. Also, as proved in the last test, runs are possible on these wickets if the batsmen apply thenselves and take it easy.Australia did that in second innings of the last test, can they emulate themselves?
England certainly have the upper hand.Shaw looks pretty confident.English morale is high after the tenth wicket partnership as they feel that the partnership has been frustrating and morale breaking for the colonials.
