I could have picked Renshaw or Jonty Rhodes but I think I'll go with Wilfred Rhodes- the best all rounder in County history? It's possible... Four is maybe a touch high (although he bats almost as well as Jonty) but it (and my past pick of Josh da Silva) allows me some more flexibility lower down should I need it.
Feel like Mohammad Wasim is the better choice than Mohammad Shahzad here. Played against tougher oppositions and scored a century on test debut. Is also a natural middle order bat and will be my keeper for now
I didn't even look at any other player for this pick. Easiest decision, Romesh Kaluwitharana... just kidding, Jacques Kallis and he fits perfectly into my 4th spot
I can't imagine it being a hugely harmonious dressing room though - I suspect they'll all think they're captain so far and three of them are going to be disappointed
Fun fact: did you guys know that on his Test debut, Tillakaratne Dilshan batted five? One of the great openers of the modern day, he did a job at five or six for Sri Lanka at the turn of the century to earn that chance. Add his spin bowling and he edges out Boeta Dippenaar for my five spot.
This was a tough one, but I ended up going with Maqsood Ahmed, he has an aggressive play style that will hopefully help out with the middle order. Granted he is a bit high at 5, if it were up to me he would be at 6 or 7, but he played mostly at 4 in his test career; plus he can be used as a backup bowler if needed
Picking Jack Russell the batsman, not the keeper. Apart from averaging 56 in tests in the 20s he also had a very good fc record
Also @ddrap14 you have listed my #4 on the first page as Mohammad Nawaz, a batsman when it is Mohammad Wasim, a keeper
