Third Test: Australia v England at Edgbaston

it was a dimwitted verbal battle we can all agree on that.
Either way, we can win or draw from here, thats all. This match is already a win in my book.

Matt is annoyed because Jimmy asked Watson out, and not him!

Tomorrow shall be an intriguing day. I hope we get a full (98 overs) day in, either way, it should be an enthrawling day. We'd have to take 5 wickets in the first session.

Not 5. Three wickets should be enough for the morning session. Anymore than that, then it's a confirmed England victory. But be vary of the Aussies tail. It wags like a horny dog.

I think the pitch is still a bit too good if the balls not swinging. Swann will be a handful but we need Onions/Anderson moving it in the air. Would be nice to see Broad turn up to the party as well.

What's everyone talking about? Aussies can win, we just need a lead of 60 and then bowl out England for 50-odd like the Windies did :banana2

All depends on the weather tomorrow though. If it's a full 98 overs I think England have a small shot, if it's only 40-60 overs then it's gotta be a draw.

Mitch has been back to normal in this Test which is good, although his last spell must have been a bit expensive.

I went to bed just before Flintoff got out and haven't watched the tape, but Peter Siddle is on very thin ice for me. That 7 over spell that went for 47 after lunch was ridiculous. The commentators harped on Watson's bad 3 overs, but Siddle's was no better and lasted longer. He bowled a good first over to Prior, then it all went to pieces. He can't build any pressure and seems to be trying something new every ball, going for a wicket every ball. Occasionally, he gets big inswing, but that means jack all if you can't get the ball in the right spot most of the time. The only thing good? Prior just happened to play a stupid, unlikely shot for a wicket.

Lee for Siddle seems the obvious swap.

Far out.

I go to sleep, wake up and we are in danger of losing the test?

Bloody hell! We just need to make this one a draw. Then go for it in the next 2 tests.

Siddle looks like he needs to go back to Domestic cricket to perfect his game as hes giving way too many 4 balls for a guy bowling around 140km/h. I don't know if you can risk Lee with his current injury and having no match under his belt. Clark is the obvious replacement and he can be our Onions bowling stump to stump and extracting bounce.

Aus already trailing by 25 runs also they have lost 2 wickets, from this stage they cant win the match, its 5th day now,its upto Watson and Hussey now,Watson played well in 1st inngs,if Eng picks 2 wickets in first session, then Aus will be in deep trouble,if Eng wins this match, Aus wont be able to win the series...

IF Aus need to win series, they need to draw this one and win reamining two...At this moment they should see how to save this match...

With the west midlands weather denying a result, it is as simple as this: win at Leeds, and we win the Ashes!

They can still retain the ashes by winning the next 2,

They can reatin that is true, but this Ashes will be a draw if Eng wins in this match and Aus wins the next 2 it will 2-2,what i was saying that if Aus needs to win the series they need to draw this one and win next 2

Yes but the series itself is not important, the Ashes is what we are playing for and a drawn series gives the Ashes to Australia.
