Third Test: Australia v England at Edgbaston

We needed more wickets in the morning. We'll not win from here.

Good start from Onions, got some late swing.

I say stick with Jimmy and Swann for a while. Or maybe let Freddie have a crack and see if he can produce some magic.

And it is Broad to start from the other end.

Nice bit of inswing. If he can keep attacking with that line to Clarke, he might slip one through.

Onions looking good with this late swing both ways. If only our bowlers could do this.

I think it was a BIG mistake not to open with Onions yesterday when the innings commenced, not hindsight but based on the previous starts to play when Onions didn't bowl and we struggled, then when he did bowl he took wickets. I'd rather the man who can get LBWs and Bowleds opening at the start of play/an innings while the batsmen are still unsure of where their stumps are and feet aren't moving, than have a bowler who pitches to short too often and is unlikely to hit the stumps that often

Prompts me to check Flintoff modes of dismissal. 16.9% bowled, 13.3% LBW. Onions combined LBW and bowled % is 38.9%

Well, it's not going to happen too soon. It is all too quiet. Time for bed me thinks. Have a good night guys.

Agree, Strauss has faith in starting the day with Onions so he should be the new ball bowler as well. He also gets the side away to a good start as he showed on Day 2.

Clarke is looking really good out there, playing the knock that Ponting should have.

I don't see a result happening, plus I've got school and stuff tomorrow, so I'm going to bed now.

Night guys.
We will lose now you've said that.

North better do something here, Clarke is certain for at least a 50. How good is he, evo?

Swann and Freddie now. Clarke looking good.

And looks like Freddie gone. Sitting on the pitch, needing a hand up.

Really need one of these two to fall before lunch. They are looking solid though.

According to Boycott Watson couldn't bowl his Grannie out let alone his Mum!

Time for Broad to shine...oh dear, not the best start!
Boycott is a tosser.

You know you're in a bad trott when Broad gets you out.
Agreed.

Hussey is in real danger of losing his spot. How many innings since his last 100? Or 50 for that matter?

He's had two 50s this series. No 100s this year.
Shame the weather has spoiled this game otherwise England could have had a 2-0 lead.

Last chance for England with the new ball in 8 overs time. I'd give it to Jimmy and Onions. Swann and maybe Colly or Broad can bowl the overs until then.

Edit: it's Bopara. Maybe like Broad he can get into the team for his "other" skill.
